The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways.
Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar.
We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.
I'm not trying to cram Women's hockey down anyone's throat, I don't care if you like it or not. I posted this as an interesting, and somewhat surprising, note. It is noted in the article that the Women's Championship was on broadcast TV, rather than cable, but it was also on tape-delay a week...
According Stadium Journey Magazine/.com.
It's a list that will raise eyebrows, cause debate, and, since this is the internet, likely create unfettered rage.
#1 is, of course, Amsoil Arena in Duluth, MN
(#3 is Compton Family Ice Arena and #15 is Mariucci Arena)...
This is a ranking I put together of every current D1 hockey team based only on what they have accomplished; winning %, NCAA win % and other metrics were not considered. This is not intended to be better than FS23's in any way. This represents about 4-5 hours of research and math, not years and I...
Will the rest of the WCHA join with the rest of the CCHA? Is this the death knell for some or all of these hockey programs? Will this actually raise interest at schools that will finally be able to compete for and/or win conference titles? Will St. Cloud, Bemidji, Northern, or Fairbanks...
I just saw this, and thought those in the Harvard/ECAC community would want to know. Very sad:(http://nhl.fanhouse.com/2011/01/08/tom-cavanagh-former-sharks-forward-found-dead-at-rhode-island/
This (long) article from the New York Times Magazine probably could have been posted in the soccer thread, but I didn't want to interrupt World Cup talk, and I think it would be an interesting read, even if you don't like soccer.
There has been some debate on this in other threads, and there seems to be an East-West divide. There is even a divide in what the conferences call each title. The WCHA calls the RS winner the conference champions and the tournament winners are the "playoff Champions." In ECAC and Hockey East...
My dislike order, a continuation from a theme in the previous thread:
1. Wisconsin
2. (tie) North Dakota and Minnesota
4. Mankato
5. Denver
6. Michigan Tech
7. UAA
8. CC
9. UMD
Swedish hockey club AIK (Stockholm) has agreed to join NHL "rival" the KHL. Interesting choice of team. It was one of the more successful Swedish clubs with titles in 1934, 1935, 1938, 1946, 1947, 1982, and 1984. It is also a part of the same sports club as arguably the most popular soccer team...
