    Yep - my life insurance company only asks about 2 recreational activities: SCUBA diving and being a private pilot. Don't be a pilot unless you're reaally going to commit to fly enough to be safe (at lest 250 hours per year).

    Fail fast is fine for software. Get the beta version of your fish feeding scheduling app out there and let the users find the bugs for free - great business model! Not so much if every bit of knowledge you gain literally burns up $100M of hardware. TL/DR: Tech bros should stick to nconsumer apps.

    It's coming - mine are 5 and 7 (18 months apart) and oh my goodness, what a difference from even 6 months ago. As far as I know, my son (7) sleeps in his clothes, because he is ready to walk out the door to school every morning....all on his own. Bliss.

    The version that resonates with me is: the years are short, but the minutes are long. If I never have to entertain two toddlers for 4 hours with no toys while my wife shops ever again , it will still be too soon.

    Per google's AI garbage, only about 45% of produce grown in the US is sold fresh; 55% becomes juice, frozen, canned, etc, and I assume most exports are a part of that 55%, so a loss of the export market could still have a pretty significant impact on farms that are 3 or 4% profitable.
