The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways.
Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar.
We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.
Welcome to the club. We force fit our first kid into our existing CR-V, but we went car shopping a month before our second was born. My wife *really* wanted a Highlander, so off we went to Toyota. We were talking with the salesman about all our use cases (parents coming to town to visit, etc)...
They're gonna get DOGEd for sure. Bet none of the 9 can name 5 things they did this week!
Trump already decided what the law means (nothing), so SCOTUS is completely superfluous.
Seriously - think about how many 3-year-olds out there are going to DIE because of JD Vance's policies. And he's upset that his daughter heard some yelling?
Yep - my life insurance company only asks about 2 recreational activities: SCUBA diving and being a private pilot. Don't be a pilot unless you're reaally going to commit to fly enough to be safe (at lest 250 hours per year).
Fail fast is fine for software. Get the beta version of your fish feeding scheduling app out there and let the users find the bugs for free - great business model!
Not so much if every bit of knowledge you gain literally burns up $100M of hardware.
TL/DR: Tech bros should stick to nconsumer apps.
It's coming - mine are 5 and 7 (18 months apart) and oh my goodness, what a difference from even 6 months ago. As far as I know, my son (7) sleeps in his clothes, because he is ready to walk out the door to school every morning....all on his own.
Bliss.
Heh. Reminds me of the story my parents tell about when I was a baby/toddler. They would mention to people that I cried a lot, and invariably get the advice, "oh, you just need to let him cry it out and then he'll be fine." So they'd ask how long that should take, and the answer would usually...
Nope. You have the same # of shares that you had in your account before the shorting. All that shorting just manipulates the price of those shares, and the way the short-ers win is if the price goes lower - so your same number of shares are now worth less than before. You're buy-and-hold...
Oh, yeah. This one grinds my gears for sure (opposite gender, of course).
"Daddy?"
"Yes, son?"
"Daddy, I picked a flower."
"Daddy?"
"Yes?"
"Daddy, it was blue."
"Daddy?"
"Yes?"
"Daddy, can you hold it?"
"Sure"
"Daddy?"
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH. STOP SAYING DADDY!!! I'M RIGHT HERE, LOOKING...
When I was living in Europe and working for two different aerospace/defense companies in Seattle and Irvine, CA, both had the same policy: Business Class only if the flight was more than 10 hours. Guess how long the flight to LAX was? 9.5 hours.
62 round trips to Europe. 1 total leg in...
The version that resonates with me is: the years are short, but the minutes are long. If I never have to entertain two toddlers for 4 hours with no toys while my wife shops ever again , it will still be too soon.
In a rather bizarre twist, the Nazis actually staged their false flag, despite it being the era before there were digital cameras everywhere. Now in the social media age, they don’t even have to bother - just lie into the echo chamber and wait for the reverberations.
Didn’t have to - there were several moles within the project. They naturally had to draw their talent from the Academy, and there were a great many of them who were communist party members or were at least fellow travellers. Oppenheimer himself had many connections with known communists and...
Per google's AI garbage, only about 45% of produce grown in the US is sold fresh; 55% becomes juice, frozen, canned, etc, and I assume most exports are a part of that 55%, so a loss of the export market could still have a pretty significant impact on farms that are 3 or 4% profitable.
