WHOSE SICK OF NIL LOADED B10 POACHING PROGRAMS???

I concur with this. Even WI lost two of their top guys to ASU and MI 2 yrs ago (Lucious/Whitelaw). I dont know if it had anything to do with poaching or just unhappiness with their expected roles/effort). But, it's a new world now with CHL/Portal/NIL. i look at it as 3 general buckets: 1) Guys...

    Wisconsin Badgers 2026 Offseason

I Think Hastings worked a lot of magic with Finley, taught him PK and full 200ft player. He made huge strides soph to jr yr. NO way Poirer comes w/o knowing what the expectations are up front. Hastings expects full buy in.

WHOSE SICK OF NIL LOADED B10 POACHING PROGRAMS???

BIG teams are not poaching anyone, goodness. The only 2 guys who received any truly substantial NIL money were McKenna and Martone, and they came from the CHL. You overestimate the ability for BIG hockey programs to shell out cash when ADs have Football and Basketball beasts to feed. Those 2...

    Wisconsin Badgers 2026 Offseason

Pulver is now in the portal on USCHO's list. Not a big surprise. I wish the lad well. He had two of the biggest wins of this past year in beating Mich St. at their barn when they were #1. I wish the lad nothing but success. Really like how Hastings has completely transformed our Goalie room from...

    Wisconsin Badgers 2026 Offseason

2 things that pealed my interest that I haven't really thought to bring up but crossed my mind: Buckberger and Skahan. Buckberger is the one who takes the game winning shot with the tip G. Wish he woulda stuck with the Badgers. Skahan flips on signing day to BC, does nothing over 2 yrs and now...

    Wisconsin Badgers 2026 Offseason

If I remember correctly, and I certainly am not making fun of it, but I believe Smilanic battled some pretty serious ongoing depression through his college career. Hopefully he was able to find the care he needed. Some things are more important than hockey. Edit: After follow up, it looks like...

    Wisconsin Badgers 2026 Offseason

Concur. The amount of BS on X and FB saying how this is a stab in the back to Hauser have zero understanding of how important G pipelines are for sustained success in NCAA D1 hockey.

    Wisconsin Badgers 2026 Offseason

Regardong Poirer, his addition to the portal is imminent from the X accts Ive been following. I don't know much about him, but his name is all over the place with many saying Badgers are on a short list. I dont believe anything until I see it, but I read he had hip surgery. So he may just be...

    Wisconsin Badgers 2026 Offseason

Man I'd love to see Pavs be the assistant, feel like it would absolutely draw point production. But I dont want it to be like D Granato with a one and done. We'll see.

    Wisconsin Badgers 2026 Offseason

I have no data outside of the eye test, but I feel like there is almost no movement east to west, traditionally speaking, maybe high end HE to NCHC/BIG the exception.

    Wisconsin Badgers 2026 Offseason

Scarfone, Hayton....I think with only one exception, bringing in a G from AHA, CCHA, or non top-tier ECAC teams is not a winning move. Those leagues now just dont face the offensive talent that exists in BIG, NCHC or HE and play D heavy systems that protect goalies.

    Wisconsin Badgers 2026 Offseason

Yup, it's been sad on the point producing side of the house with exception to 1 player every 4 or 5 yrs. We really do need serious point producing depth to be consistently competitive in the BIG and on the national stage, I feel the staff knows that.

    Wisconsin Badgers 2026 Offseason

Im not gonna say it is huge, but goodness, I love it. College Puck NXT has it up. We just need point producers badly. Whatever Hasty is selling, kids are buying. EDit: And Id like to add, there is now way he is even engaged unless the coaching staff had him ID'd as a 2 way 200 ft player already.

    Wisconsin Badgers 2026 Offseason

I think, based on the timeline, the fact the portal has been open for just 3 days, and the team just gpt back to business on Mon, the coaches are probably engaging their targets, having discussions amongst themselves, and then going to have conversations with players over the next couple days...

Wisconsin Hockey 25-26 Hastings Year 3 - Turning the Corner?

I've noticed since the FF was set, there are TONS of sour grapes folks on X saying their team should actually be the one in the FF bc they are better. It's fascinating how many ppl are now saying "It's BS that this tourney is single elimination" or "The entire tourney should be a best of 3...

The Weasels and Pios are beating the hell out of each other. I hope this goes to 6OTs.

Wisconsin Hockey 25-26 Hastings Year 3 - Turning the Corner?

I still am kinda dumbfounded as to why the NCAA had ECAC refs for this game. They were atrocious. Outside of Cornell/Q-Pac, I don't think there's a single ECAC team that can play at the level of Big10/NCHC/Hockey East. Why not HE refs? At least they know fast paced/hard play with the likes of...

Wisconsin Hockey 25-26 Hastings Year 3 - Turning the Corner?

Clearly the top 3 things: 1. Goal tending 2. Puck hunting was outstanding 3. PK Sioux is a girl's name!
