Future D3 (and D2) hockey programs

Yes. Saint Anselm is rink is probably easily a top 15 Division III rink, maybe even top 10 the moment they step onto the ice for their inaugural Division III season. It's on campus and seats 1500-2000ish IIRC. It has a lot of room to expand it if they ever wanted to and had the crowds to...

    2026-2027 Schedules

Would imagine there is a strong chance you can pencil St. Norbert into the 2027-28 Pathfinder Bank Tournament.

    Anna Maria in trouble

Anna Maria has been "on the list" of schools that I thought would be in danger of closing for a decade plus now. It's honestly impressive they have staved it off this long. They've seen some decent league success as well in some of the marquee sports like football, men's hockey, men's basketball...

    2025-26 Division III Women's Hockey

Plattsburgh had a very good team in 2020..but Norwich was VIBING that year down the stretch and into the start of the tournament, including picking up a big win over Amherst in the first round the day before everything got shutdown. Norwich was headed to Plattsburgh for the quarterfinals that...

    2025-26 Division III Women's Hockey

I wouldn’t expect Plattsburgh to stay “off” for long. I bet they’ll be right back in the mix sooner rather than later.

    2025-26 Division III Women's Hockey

I think Norwich would have provided a stiffer test but they completely collapsed in the semifinals after holding 3-0 and 4-2 leads...

SNC almost always had that next year schedule up by end of March/early April...come on Dan! ;)

HOBART HOCKEY 2025-2026 REIGNING THREE -PEAT D3 HOCKEY CHAMPIONS

I should have clarified...that's why I found it so surprising because I'm like...they have definitely still been in the NCAA Tournament most years and I thought even making it to the quarterfinals, just keep falling one round short of the semis.

    St. Norbert General

I'll throw Geneseo and Oswego out there as possibilities...but I feel like that's a major stretch on a state school budget. I can't recall many times a NY state school has gone out west for hockey games that weren't the NCAA Tournament. I think maybe the Plattsburgh women did it once going to...

HOBART HOCKEY 2025-2026 REIGNING THREE -PEAT D3 HOCKEY CHAMPIONS

That's legitimately crazy to think it's been that long for St. Norbert. Norwich hasn't made it since 2019 either though. Just goes to show there are just so many good Division III hockey teams right now. There are easily 40 good teams that on any night they can beat anyone. Coming into the...

HOBART HOCKEY 2025-2026 REIGNING THREE -PEAT D3 HOCKEY CHAMPIONS

Very interesting to see how/if they can replace Beaver. I'm sure they will...but he was a big part of the straw that stirred the drink the last four years.
