The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways.
Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar.
We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.
When moves don't make sense on the surface...I always try to follow the money.
Perhaps they offered them a deal for ice time etc. they couldn't pass up.
Not saying Oswego is in “financial trouble”, but they had the ability to close two whole dorms with the current on-campus enrollment numbers. One (Johnson) because they had to due to mold and Two (Oneida) because they could and didn’t need it to meet the enrollment demands this fall.
IIRC, sometimes schools can get the last two years combined if they can prove that there are no longer any students on the roster that are receiving athletic scholarship money.
I can’t remember how long they have to wait. Last year they announced, so that should be year 1. This is year 2 still at D2. Next year is D3 and move to LEC. Could they be eligible as soon as the 2028-29 season?
We'll see how it plays out. I honestly think Saint Anselm will be in a better spot moving forward across the board competing in Division III. The NEWMAC is a bear of a league to be joining, so they are going to have to be on their game to compete with the best of the best. MIT, Springfield...
As I thought it would play out. I love this addition for the Little East. It's basically the OG ECAC East back together again with Saint Anselm in D3 and the dissolving of the NEHC. Saint Anselm/Norwich games were always solid battles and Norwich usually had a strong contingent at games in...
Almost every team always has at least one or two...It always comes down to how much do you put up with while counter weighing the talent/skill aspect. Everyone has an end to their rope. Some are a lot shorter than others.
1000 in 1980 went a lot further than a 1000 in 2026. Russell's point was extra cash is extra cash. I'm sure there are some D3 NIL deals that give a little bit or a lot more than that.
Oswego always seem to mine the Ontario league pretty hard. And you're right, it seems to be very hit or miss on who pans out. Some guys have had a lot of points in that league and never really materialized.
I did know all except tennis! Didn’t realize conference affiliation changed there.
Also, small correction but your overall point very much remains, I believe the Nescac was #2 overall and the UAA was #1.
Wish there could have been a little more notice on this... Would have liked to have tried to come out and support Coach. Was hoping maybe something Harborfest weekend!
