    I read it as the Brunis don't want to let him burn one of his ELC years - but could call him up if his performance in Providence makes them think he could help in a playoff run (if they even make the playoffs).... (in other words the Bruins trying to be "frugal")

    Can't speak to BC, but on the BU side i think there was a big element of playing as individuals rather than team hockey (Pandolfo alluded to this more than once in post game interviews), at least one high end transfer underperforming (possibly with a nagging injury) and the question has come up...

    This is what most of us have long thought on here but seems not to always hold true. For example last year Maine was the highest remaining seed and played in the 2nd game. Maybe that’s how it starts but TV can override?

    I don’t know if we have ever really known the exact answer to why who plays when, but NESN may simply get to choose and as you mentioned BC/UConn would probably be considered a more “marquee” matchup as far as general fan interest.
