The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways.
Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar.
We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.
My first hockey game ever was the first Maine game ever. I had just enrolled after flying in from Japan, where I spent 5 years as a USAF dependent, and had never lived in a hockey climate before.
So, I was one of the clueless fans who clapped politely when Maine was called offside.
Whatever...
Brady is an asshole on the ice, yes. He has Jackie written all over him.
But damned if he isn't a little sweetheart in interviews. As in,genuinely nice.
Fuck it, GO USA!!!
Went to Merrimack a bunch of times to see Maine. It was a fairly easy drive on 495 (vs.128 into Boston) and my sister and nephews lived in Merrimac MA, so it was two birds/one stone for a weekend.
My brother and SIL would come down from Bangor/Lincoln/Portland, and a good time was had by all...
Maine, historically, kicks ass and takes names in Albany.
That means absolutely nothing going forward, but what great memories I have there.
(Harvard, Frankie Doyle, coming back from 4-1 in the 3rd, just heroic stuff. I'll never forget that one.)
I noticed!
Utica controls it's own fate, and you can't ask for a better scenario going forward, considering the 0-4 start.
Genny and (even) Chatham are potential roadblocks, but whatever.
This is shaping-up to be another fun stretch-run.
I'm scratching my head right now after reading the sob-fest over last night's game. (If anyone needs a case of Kleenex, let me know.)
The reality of the situation is this: Maine played it's way out of an AL bid quite a while ago. You can't shit the bed vs. UNH and VT and expect one, am I right...
Capacity is 3,850 or something. Tickets
I identify nubby as a mean and petty 14 YO girl.
That's my prerogative, and it's been a pretty accurate take for more years than I care to remember.
And, BTW, why don't you all go back to your teams' threads, and actually talk hockey..? Just asking.
She's not "acting", believe me...
The "ignore" button is your friend here... I haven't seen any of her drivel for months now. And that's a good thing.
nubby is a pathetic little impotent troll who boasted rather recently (January of '25) that his Orange Shitstain hero had "brought the world to...
Any home playoff game for UU is a sure-fire sellout, but with that field..?
Forget about getting a ticket unless you know somebody. Might be the first time scalpers have ever worked a D-3 hockey venue.
Works for me.
If this team was playing in front of Albin 1.0, they DEFINITELY would be in the top-10 NPI right now. Despite their other issues, this squad has a lot more raw talent.
Not throwing Boija under the bus; he's looked his old self here and there, and Maine has a genuine puncher's...
I hate to speculate as to what's going on in the locker room, but it sure looks to me that there isn't a lot of cohesion to this team. Half-hearted celebrations, guys barely acknowledging each other at times.
One thing that I'm sure of: this team is less than the sum of its parts.
Well, if it's on FB it's gotta be true!
How's about you go back and lick your wounds on the NU thread? You have nothing to offer here. You come off as a 75 YO troll. Not a good look for an old man.
To "many" who likely believe that Greenland and Iceland are the same country...
UU is cash-strapped. No way in the world they're paying hockey players.
Perhaps there's some private money? Please enlighten us.
