The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways.
Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar.
We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.
Don't drag all of us into it Russ. The Teddy Bear Toss is a great event that the community rallies around and is proud of.
I expect a lukewarm attendance this weekend. Not trolling, but what are other D3 markets that would post strong attendance if their team wasn't a part of it?
That looks to be true when you go look at tickets available for sale. But they are only offering tickets for the lower bowl, and probably closing off the upper sections. Lower bowl probably holdings 5,000-6,000 which would be a good turnout.
Albany used to get decent crowds before Covid. The two they hosted in ‘21 and ‘22 were terrible attendance wise, only a couple thousand if that. $100 ticket will push families away too.
If you watched the game, which I am sure you didn’t, and thought otherwise then I have some ocean front property in Kansas to sell you. After the 1st, which Utica still controlled, it was blatantly one sided.
Yeah, I will disagree with that. Utica probably held a 5:1 time of possession advantage. It was a lopsided game. They may not get more than 10 shots against Hobart.
Only so Sir Nubs doesn't scold me for not being in attendance with the final 4 in town. I do think it will be quiet, though, unless Hamilton makes it to the final. I did not realize they have the 3PM game on Friday. Locals won't go out of their way at 3PM on a Friday to watch them.
To add onto...
My assessment is similar on the season as a whole. I won’t sit here and blame the game on the refs, but they let it get out of control. Missing a very clear trip, and then scrambling for a makeup call on the faceoff violation shortly thereafter was embarassing. And the embellishment call was...
Yes, it was a zoo. There will be plenty of tickets available this weekend. There will be some local interest in Hamilton. But generally speaking none of the final 4 teams are known to travel well.
Utica dominated the game. 47–22 shots. Stout had a clear plan to mix things up and it worked. Many missed calls but it is what it is. Crowd should be fine for next weekend. See ya’ll next year
It's subjective. Hobart is #1 and then you can make an argument about the 7 remaining teams in the field at #2. Good luck to SNC tomorrow. Despite the banter on here, I genuinely want to see Hobart lose.
