The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways.
Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar.

So in those three men's sports, that would be 146 players. 146 x $5000 = $730,000 a month. I will assume that is for the whole year, so $8,760,000 used.
Bemidji State opted out of the settlement this year and will re-examine next year. With being a D-II school in all sports but hockey, they wanted to see where everything falls. I know they had some concerns with the roster limits, last year the Women's team would have been down to one goalie...
I think it is going to be interesting to see what happens going forward. Schools have $20.5 million a year to spend on NIL across all sports (I hesitate to say "only $20,5 million"). At a "Power 5" schools like the Big 10, are the football teams going to be happy with a niche sport like hockey...
You post made it sound like the players were going to choose either the CHL route or the NCAA route. I was just pointing out that the CHL route, in almost all cases, will come before the NCAA route. You are correct in saying that it isn't any different that the USHL/NAHL route in the past.
In most cases, it won't be either/or in regards to the CHL and NCAA. It will be more of first the CHL and then the NCAA as most NCAA coaches want the more mature and developed 19 and 20 year old.
So, let's say the Supreme Court upholds the lower court ruling that Trump's tariffs were unconstitutional. It is being reported that the government would have to pay back the tariffs collected, TO THE COMPANIES, even if they passed those costs onto the consumers...... So, the corporations again...
I actually feel bad for the players they advise. Claiming to know the Settlement inside and out, but not knowing that schools have the option of opting in or out, and what that means in regards to rosters and scholarships. Also, claiming to have a law degree, but not thinking that the NCAA...
Looks like it was more than just Tennessee that got pro basketball players through before it spilled over into hockey. From another message board:
Alon Michaeli:
Signed with the Colorado (CU) Buffs for the 2025-26 season, having previously played in Israel's top division and for Israel's U20...
What I am feeling is that the settlement has basically "hamstrung" the lawyers for the NCAA, they don't know what, if any, legal standing they have. I think they basically said if they are eligible to be playing college hockey in Canada, they are eligible in the States as well. I think U-Sports...
It also looks like there is $2 Billion in park funding in the Federal District that is on the table as well..... I wonder how much of it will be gold leaf????
"During a press conference yesterday, Bowser pledged support for Trump's $2 billion request to Congress to "beautify" D.C. parks...
Just saw on the news a quote from one of the relatives picking up a kid from the scene of the shooting. "It is a lot different when it happens to you. Things have to change."
Boy, how things have changed. Right around 2000, when BSU was in their D-I transition year, they had a commitment from a stud defenseman out of the Maritimes (I can't remember his name). The problem was, he played two exhibition games in the Q, never signed a contract, and was let go. He...
