The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways.
Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar.
We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.
Yeah, I agree now, NPI or PWR, makes no difference. Just a bad season all around for Hockey East teams, in contrast to just one season earlier. “We’ll get ‘em next year.”
As others have mentioned, ECAC has zero interest in reformulating itself, even with its shorter schedule length for the Ivies. And Quinnipiac, Bentley, and Holy Cross have zero interest in joining Hockey East. Atlantic Hockey will be fine with nine or even eight teams. With Quinnipiac the only...
I do not think that any of MS7’s losses come close to the Umileation’s of the Niagara and RIT postseason losses as no one should have expected anything but losses to NU this season and to Maine in 2024.
Yeah, I mostly retracted my second sentence as they did a good job placing the #2 and #3 seeds to maximize attendance, although as someone else pointed out they only had to flip two of those schools from a pure NPI bracket standpoint.
Agreed. And on a closer look, there is not a big difference in records of the eight #2 and #3 seeds and it looks like the Committee made an effort to maximize attendance, which I think is import’ant for the regionals.
No, da “Committee” played it straight up in protecting the #1 seeds in the first semifinal games. But I think that they made up for it by some ridiculous match ups in the second semifinal games in each regional.
I think that if the AD were not staying, there would have been an announcement and national search initiated for a new AD over a year ago.
On paper, AD Rich is credited with tripling fundraising for the Athletic Dept during her first three years, most likely attributed to Anthony Lorenzo’s...
Yeah, who knew, right? I think that I misspelled his name, too, and I am not even going to bother to edit. 🙂
I think that this thread has gone completely off the rails and plummeted from a tall bridge into a deep canyon.
I agree, norbert. Most of the personnel change ideas floated over the last couple pages sound delusional to me and I can all but guarantee that not even one of them is going to happen.
Ps, Jim Tortella’s Education Information Specialist I position pays him $63,240/yr as of 1 July 2025, info...
I found online that Steve Wiedler’s four-year UVM contract with a base salary of $250k/year begun in July 2024 includes an annual increase in line with other head coaches at UVM (whatever that amount might be), along with nine bonus incentives that add up to a potential but extremely unlikely...
“……. might be able to get to the Garden once every blue moon.” Really? That would be once every 2.4 to 2.7 years. I think that at this point many of us would happy be getting to the Garden once every second or even every third blue moon. Otherwise, I completely agree with your post. There are...
Spot on, Jellsville. My other college hockey team for nearly the past 40 years has been Bentley.
When the Falcons jumped from Div 3 to Div 1 in 2002/03 (MAAC that year, then Atlantic Hockey since), they hired their all-time leading scorer Ryan Soderquist (youngest Div 1 head coach at the time)...
We will see if the Q does not win their next two games in the ECAC quarters and then the conference championship, which could limit the ECAC to two slots in the NCAAs.
