The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways.
Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar.
We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.
I believe he was referring to financial investment in all ways by the instituition, and not payments to players specifically. Hobart currently has the resources for exceptional fin. aid, which allows them to get athletes in for a lower total investment that many other schools (other than NESCAC-...
Pleasantly surprised (slightly) over how this team has progressed this year, adapting to a new coach and style of play.
The bracket setup for them allows for more optimism!
Well done to the coaches and players! It’s fun again!
The whole trophy ceremony was, well not even high school ish. It was worse. The wome’s was the same.
I know it’s a new league for hockey, but it was very underwhelming.
Perseverance and grinding it out. Scarey second period, but they tightened up in the third. Benjamin’s breakaway was the killer, and the ENG the icing.
Now the wait to see the next opponent.
Well done Cadets!!
Excitement is back! Good crowd considering students on break, lots of noise.
Hitting picked up noticeably in the second, and so did the play. Could (should) have avoided a couple penalties, but great effort shown, and rewarded.
Great job this year by coach Dawes!
Also, trying to remember...
Not a great job staying out of box. Not great going to shootout, but winning that is enough for the regular season title.
Now get ready for Saturday!
(And now I see Babson lost, so although a moot point, it was still on the Cadets hand no matter what)
Last regular season game, and can lock up first place. Hopeful the Cadets continue coming out fast, and with a strong third period. In-state rivalry game, so staying out of the box is a key.
I was wrong about where I thought NU would finish this year. I knew the coach is more than capable...
Grinding out a win, great second and most of the third. Had the game in hand and committed some ill advised penalties. Nice to see checking a part of the game.
One more to go then playoffs.
Looking for fast starts (and good finishes) both games this weekend. I’m sure the coaching staff has emphasized that.
A 4 pm Friday game is unusual, but maybe it’s more me than them. Looking forward to watching it, hopefully the video is good.
Foot on the pedal, don’t let up!
I saw it, but wanted to make sure it wasclarified. It was a very good weekend, but with enough for coach Dawes to talk about, ala Nick Saban style.....
A gritty performance in a game where they were outplayed for long stretches. A good demonstration that hard work can be its own reward.
And a great crowd on a very cold day as well, proof that the fans are still in the area.
One complaint that I’ll name and not explain-concessions.
It wasn’t until the 93-94 season that the NESCAC voted to allow participation in the national tournament. This was also the time of the interlock schedule, but the rest of DIII had not witnessed the “torpedo” system, which Midd used extremely well.
Midd had some very good seasons prior to ‘95...
I posted this on Little East thread, but reposting here…
reat to see Benjamin rewarded with a goal after what he had to endure during the game.
Excellent start of game, although the third goal eluded them a lot longer than I had hoped for.
A few things to clean up, but trending well.
