University of Maine 2024–2025: Freel-ing good

On the Alfond rink schedule there are holds on the following dates. Bolded dates are confirmed home games. 10/10+11 | 10/17+18 | 10/24+25 | 10/31+11/1 | 12/5+6 | 1/9+10 | 1/30+31 | 3/6+7 That would be 16 home games, not taking into account any of those Sunday matinees they do. Based on the...

University of Maine 2024–2025: Freel-ing good

Had him on my list as well but for some reason I didn’t add him.

University of Maine 2024–2025: Freel-ing good

From the development camp rosters I've seen so far: Miguel Marques (NSH), Justin Poirier (CAR), Josh Nadeau (CAR), Harrison Scott (DAL), Frank Djurasevic (DAL), Taylor Makar (COL), Ross Mitton (NYI), Brandon Chabrier (NYI), Mikus Vecvanags (MTL) and Albin Boija (BOS). Former Black Bears...

University of Maine 2024–2025: Freel-ing good

I would imagine Noah Read might be one of the potential players. He's been linked to Maine among a few other teams. Have to think they've been scouting him along with Van Gorp in London.

Maine Recruits: When Ashes Fall, Legends Rise

Looks like the Brandon Wheat Kings PxP guy confirmed that Mistelbacher is indeed coming for 26/27 season. LINK

Maine Recruits: When Ashes Fall, Legends Rise

Mistelbacher's profile from the EP 2025 Draft Guide: "After last season’s second-half breakout, it was a bit of a surprise to see Luke Mistelbacher go undrafted. Nevertheless, he took his scoring to new heights, doubling his goal totals while becoming one of the WHL’s top even-strength...

University of Maine 2024–2025: Freel-ing good

I've been keeping tabs on the Alfond calendar but nothing obvious as of home dates right now. One thing I noticed is that among all the hold times placed on it OTO Practice is currently listed on every weekend in Feb. Would be kind of strange to go a whole month without a home series right?

University of Maine 2024–2025: Freel-ing good

I think Sparkee mentioned a while back that Marques might be do well as a center and from watching some tape I don't disagree. Do we know if he's played any at Lethbridge over the last few seasons? If he hasn't it still looks like a really strong top nine no matter which line he slots in on...

University of Maine 2024–2025: Freel-ing good

Thinking of Marques' passing ability feeding pucks over to Poirier and loving the thought of it. This season can't start soon enough.

UNH 2025 Offseason: Where in the World is MS7?

I believe a new arena was discussed and there were some renderings of new concepts that were floated around but ultimately they decided to upgrade the existing facility. Most Maine fans don't have a problem with the decision at all even if there are some quality of life things we'd like to see...

UNH 2025 Offseason: Where in the World is MS7?

If the Bruins couldn't extend him during the season, he probably did enough to drive his market value up that it probably prices them out. Would love to see him back in Boston, but gotta think there will be a lot of teams in the mix for him now.

University of Maine 2024–2025: Freel-ing good

Kind of a bummer to see him and Soltys both leave, but sounds like between O'Connor and Bennett the program didn't fair too poorly in replacing them with good hockey minds. Let's hope Forch keeps funneling talented players to Orono wherever he lands.

University of Maine 2024–2025: Freel-ing good

I don't 100% recall the circumstances of his resignation from Union, but remember thinking at the time it was very sudden. I am familiar with Bennett's rep as a tough coach but wondering how much of that played into him leaving.

University of Maine 2024–2025: Freel-ing good

That's a bummer. Still have to think we'll be better off with at least one more forward to deepen the bench this season.

Looks like Ben Bishop will be part of the 2025 UMaine Sports Hall of Fame class. https://goblackbears.com/news/2025/6/9/maine-athletics-announces-2025-umaine-sports-hall-of-fame-class.aspx

University of Maine 2024–2025: Freel-ing good

I could maybe see some ill will in the old days where you'd transfer and have to sit out a year. But in the modern era where guys can pretty freely move between programs via the portal there's no reason to think there would be bad blood just because you were able to attract better talent to fill...

I've said it in various threads before but I can digitize old tapes. If anyone has any VHS they don't mind passing along I would happily start putting together an archive of classic games somewhere like YouTube so they are preserved. Shoot a DM over and I can send my email/phone to chat more.

At this point I wouldn't put it past him to land McKenna lol

University of Maine 2024–2025: Freel-ing good

Noticed this earlier, but the Black Bears IG is following Rousseau. All the players they follow are current/former Black Bears. Feels like only a matter of when not if that commitment is announced.
