The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways.
Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar.
We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.
Agree here. I could see all 4 of these games going either way.
Norwich over Hamilton I would probably put the most confidence in and even that is only a 60 percent chance I feel.
St. Norbert at Hobart is one hell of a spicy quarterfinal.
Little East is the new mascac is quite the stretch. Is the league as good as it was before as NEHC? Absolutely not. But calling it the MASCAC is a big time slap in the face to Norwich and Babson, who have been perennial powers/ranked nearly every year for the last 30 years.
UMass Boston and NEC...
I think the 5-6 week layoff was more the problem. I don’t care how much talent you have. That is an absolute killer playing a team that has been hitting its stride and in a groove for the last month.
I think every team in D3 hockey loses to Norwich last night if they were off 5 straight weeks...
Thanks for posting the link so we could see the exciting end of the game!
SNC just always seems to find a way to get it done. Juicy matchup next Saturday on tap….
In 2013 indeed all 3 teams were on the same chartered flight. I believe they met in Albany and flew out.
In 2017 out in Adrian, Plattsburgh and Norwich were on the same chartered flight.
6:00 Neumann 1 at Hamilton 3
7:00 Norwich 4 at Salve Regina 2
7:00 Williams 1 at Utica 4
8:00 Univ of New England 4 at St. Norbert 5
8:00 Saint John's 2 at Aurora 3
8:00 Anna Maria 2 at UW-Stout 6
I still think at least a decent reason why the SUNYAC took them was for stability. With 8 team, if you lost one or two more, you could/would be in a world of hurt. Plus 10 teams makes your non-conference easy. 18 conference games and 7 non-leagues is perfect. With 8 teams, 14 league games and 11...
From what I understand, the NCAA has reallocated funds from different places in the championships budget to help pay for these bracket shifts that prioritize bracket integrity over least amount of money spent possible.
I think it’s more the long lay off than the perceived lack of talent on Salve.
Two weeks between games is a long time for some teams. Salve is going on 5-6 weeks. That’s gotta be tough to stay sharp.
I believe UW-Stout is the only public school on there.
Now that the MASCAC and SUNYAC have private schools in them, the only fully public school D3 league left is the WIAC I believe.
