After one at Vermont, Penn State is up 2-0 on goals from Grace Outwater and Maddy Christian. Shots on goal are just 8-2 for Penn State, and Vermont took the only penalty. It wasn't the usual 100 MPH from Penn State, but they're definitely in charge of the game thus far.

Penn State finally updated the roster with this year's photos, in case you want to get an idea of who the players are that pop up in their occasional funny videos:

That first St. Lawrence goal I think was scored by Tessa Janecke - the initial shot was saved, and the short rebound came out, and it looked like Janecke was trying to just tap it back to DeSa to cover it up, but oops...DeSa wasn't expecting that.
#8 Penn State sweeps #9 St. Lawrence by a score of 5-2 on third period goals from Tessa Janecke, Grace Outwater, and Nicole Hall. Shots on goal totals were 53-23 for Penn State, and penalty totals were 4 for Penn State and 2 for St. Lawrence.
Penn State played a game of constant pressure, and...
After two, Penn State is up 2-0 on first-career goals from Matilde Fantin and Taya McDonald. Shots on goal are 34-13, and each team took a penalty in that period. It's getting a little chippy, but this one is all Penn State again.
No score at Penn State after one. Shots on goal are 17-3 for Penn State, and they took the only penalty. So far, it's a repeat of last night, just relentless pressure from Penn State. I know it's only been four periods of hockey this season, but I'm really liking freshman Matilde Fantin on that...

No scoring in the third, either, so Penn State takes the shutout win 3-0. Shots on goal ended at 38-15 for Penn State, and penalties ended at 5 for Penn State and 3 for St. Lawrence.
It was a good showing for a season opener, all kinds of hustle, and St. Lawrence really only had good chances...
No scoring in the second, so it's still 3-0. Shots on goal are 31-9 for Penn State, and they took two penalties to St. Lawrence's one. Penn State looks good, with just very minor things that can be chalked up to this being the season opener. Give these lines another game or two to get comfortable.
After one, Penn State is up 3-0 vs St. Lawrence on goals from Katelyn Roberts, Nicole Hall, and Grace Outwater. Shots on goal are 15 for Penn State and 4 for St. Lawrence, and each team took a penalty.
Penn State was on the gas from the start, and St.Lawrence really just looks outhustled so...

The short video on Instagram shows goals from Tessa Janecke (sort of), Katelyn Roberts, Leah Stecker, and Matilde Fantin, and shows Katie DeSa and Maddy Campbell in net, so I assume all three goalies took a turn. https://www.instagram.com/reel/DO6PpU8kSbH/?hl=en
(EDIT: Looking at their Twitter...
Why wasn't this even advertised? I didn't see any mention anywhere of a preseason game...nothing on the schedule, no mention on Twitter, nothing. Well, anyway, good to see the Italian freshman (Matilde Fantin) scored twice.
Delaware is lucky to have Allison Coomey at head coach to start their D-1 program, with all her experience at Penn State and Team USA (and BU). I'd love to see them jump both Lindenwood and Robert Morris in this inaugural season, and maybe put a spark in both of them. Syracuse took a nosedive...
