The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways.
Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar.
We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.
And the kid is 6’4”. This shows how competitive D1 (and D3) roster spots are becoming. Must be a slightly below average skater with his size and junior statistics. Looks like a great pickup, as does most of the rest of the class…
Looks like there has indeed been some trickle-down with the admission of CHL players into NCAA. Most listed new recruits for SNC here have USHL experience, mostly complete seasons https://www.eliteprospects.com/team/2119/st.-norbert-college
Excited for the season to get rolling!
Alright it's late August, who's on campus? Looks like one of the Salve transfers landed at Hobart? Any word on the whereabouts of the other high point producers (from Salve, Aurora, etc) that were in the portal?
Nothing will come of this. This kid is not going to Utica and has an opportunity to play at one of the expansion programs next season. This is a good kid.
Yes, according to this https://gopherpucklive.com/transfer-portal/ (which isn't necessarily the golden rule) Halsey is going to Arizona State and the goalie from Omaha mentioned above is headed to Colorado College.
There are a couple Salve forwards in the Portal that will be big pickups for someone. One of the forwards has 3 years of eligibility remaining after like a 30 point freshman season and a somewhat productive Junior career in the USHL and BCHL.
That's what I thought. Side note/questions: do players looking to transfer HAVE TO enter the portal for visibility to all teams, or can they essentially withdraw from their current school, enroll somewhere else, and simply join the hockey team?
I see Curry goaltender Shane Soderwall in the portal. With the portal can D3 plyers now move up to D1 and have immediate eligibility, or do they still need to sit a season?
Two more decent goaltenders in the D3 portal from St. Olaf and Norwich.
What a story for Piros! Start the season seeing tons of shots playing on the weakest team (but becoming competitive) in arguably the best top-to-bottom D3 league. Transfer at semester break and end up being a key component on a team playing in overtime of the national championship.
