The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways.
Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar.
We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.
I think the biggest difference tonight is in net. So the adjustment would be to bench Boija for a couple games then. This is feeling a lot like when Ostman shit the bed and Boija won the starting job. It took a very long time for Boija to start both games on a weekend. Imagine this will be the...
UNH went up high blocker side where there was a lot of net and hit the crossbar.
Maine dodged a bullet there. Looks like Boija’s angles are off a bit and he’s playing deep.
Not a good combo.
If this happened in the pros he might have a hard time getting second chances. He can survive this slump in NCAA, plenty of time to come back without worrying about ice time. So, I would say he made the right choice. He mentioned he didn’t think he was ready yet. Looks like he was right.
Ugh, Califiore skates it all the way down to behind the Maine goal for no apparent reason, the dishes to Usereau, who promptly coughs up a turnover, UNH guy wheels without anyone bodying him up, rips a shot for a goal.
So disappointing to see multiple misplays stacking up killing momentum...
The part that to me is what we see each game “We get selfish, we stop shooting pucks, we stop getting to the net, we fumble a puck.”
I think the part about getting selfish is guys holding the puck and trying to stick handle to look for perfect plays when maybe you could just quickly get it on...
You could read the officials lips where he said “no penalty, he’s faking”. There was no cheap shot as you could tell on replay that he didn’t get hit in the head. Lavins was carrying on like a douche. He sure looked energetic on his very next shift a minute or so later.
Please don’t use logic and reasoning on Tony Potter or Drew S… it isn’t their strong suit.
To play their game you need to reform yourself to qualify. You need to be one part negativity, two parts village idiot, and 1 part obnoxious.
Then go read somewhere else. Please, go be a fan of another team. You will be missed, our loss their gain. In fact, maybe some other fan base will find you such a valuable and contributing member to their fan base. They will rejoice. Go for the top, Michigan is calling your name.
It is a good thing we are in a bad mood after a loss. The alternative is we become apathetic due to many years of substandard play. At least we feel something again, even heartburn after a tough loss.
So you think we should bench the top two scorers on the team and see how well Maine will do?
Makes little sense blaming freshman for the shortcomings on the team.
The top 3 scoring forwards are newcomers(Poirier, Marques, Scott) and all of returning upperclassmen forwards are below...
Makar was the best at battling in front and cleaning up the rebounds.
Freel has to be that guy. Lipinski has to be that guy. Fowler has to be that guy.
Another element at play is the better players are freshman. Freshman are inconsistent. So Maine is going back and forth with consistency due...
I didn’t see Freel battling as hard in front tonight.
I saw Djuresevic fumble and Coughlin up the turnover that lead to a goal.
Saw lots of missed shots from Holt.
So, I would have to agree with you despite it making me sad.
Need the upperclassmen to get it into a higher gear as...
They did. They lost to Vermont that same way. UNH did well boxing guys out in front. Lots of pucks in front that our guys couldn’t get to, or sticks were lifter. Why? UNH Dmen were staunch there and wanted the clearing of the puck and our guys weren’t strong enough to dig in there and out muscle...
There was no trophy on the line tonight.
If you want to get another opinion on having the other team sneak a win for a trophy when their goalie stole a game ask the UNH fans that are in town.
Regardless, Maine played well enough tonight but didn’t get a win, it’s hockey.
Let’s hope tomorrow...
You have never seen a game where the team that played best didn’t score and lost.
I doubt you are this much of a newbie.
Goalie are the most important players on the ice. Defensemen are important.
Souza said postgame he thought Maine was the better team tonight.
But you know so much.
Man, that was a tough loss. Thought Maine was the better team, like that loss to Vermont. This team just has a hard time getting wins even in games when the play hard/well.
