The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways.
Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar.
We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.
Any upsets in the first round??? It is unfortunate that the two programs that have built this year will face each other in round 1. I would have liked to see both Union and Brown advance. RPI may have a shot of upsetting Princeton.
According to this website we have recruited another goalie for next year: Caroline Reese Bjergstad, who was the #2 goalie for Team Denmark at last year's world championships. https://www.cleansheethockey.com/databases/womens-ncaa-commitments. She would have played with Lilli Friis-Hansen.
New thread, just in time for the first game, Sept 21 home exhibition against University of Windsor Lancers, who were 11-19 last year in the Ontario conference of Canadian university hockey (USports). Looks like the game will be carried by RPI TV. Anybody know who will be carrying ECAC conference...
Truly enjoyed watching the '23-'24 version of the Engineers. They developed throughout the season and provided great hockey entertainment. I have not yet focused on the plus/minus of the graduating class and the incoming frosh. Any thoughts from folks on where the team goes from here?
Video coverage of D1 games has really deteriorated this year, at least from an international perspective. You can subscribe on a monthly or per game basis with Stretch, but more often than not it gets you nothing. Is coverage within the U.S. working better?
Didn't want to start a new season thread until after the final four...congrats to Wisconsin!
I am always excited to look forward to another Engineer season, but maybe more so this year because a lot of our top players are returning and we have some good new recruits coming in (see last year's...
As a guy, I grew up passionate about playing hockey and following my favorite pro team (you can probably guess which team). But now I probably watch twice as many women's games as men's games (mostly college games but there is nothing better than a Canada/US game). I asked myself what it is that...
We have been satisfied for too long with very marginal improvements for this team, and then falling short of even those goals. It is time to expect that this team moves into the top half of the conference in 22-23. I will not be happy with just making the playoffs this time.
After a dismal season and then a non-season, time to hit the Restart button. RPI 3, Syracuse 2. By my count, almost 1,000 days since we won one (932?). Only an exhibition but I'll take it! Neither team looked sharp, of course, given the circumstances, but still fun to watch.
I find it disappointing that so many college programs have sold out their broadcast rights to ESPN. Has anybody figured out the best way to access video of games on ESPN? I have never figured out how to watch games of teams that have sold out to ESPN. Maybe because I am in Canada. I need some...
Summertime...and a time to look forward to a new season for the Engineers. I will post some comments soon on the freshman class and the prospects for this winter. In the meantime...any comments from others on where this team goes from here?
RB just posted on the RPI thread that Jordan Smelker has renewed her contract with Boston for $14,000 per year. You would need to add three zeros to that to get to the highest salary in the NHL (Shea Weber) and you would need to multiply it by about 184 to get to the average NHL salary. There is...
The Engineers are coming off their tenth season in the ECAC and with some strong parallels with the RPI men's team which has just completed its 10th season under Appert. The women bounced back from their worst season in the ECAC ('13-'14 was the second worst for the men under Appert) and in both...
