A great win tonight, a great showing after what happened yesterday. Obviously was sullied immensely by such a major injury. I hope he ends up being alright and that we have a positive update soon.
Based on my look at the media guide, there was a scoreless tie at BC on 1/10/98, and the last time Maine won in a shutout on the Heights before tonight was 11/10/91.
That looked incredibly bad. He was down for a long while and it looked like he barely moved, if at all, the entire time. I hope Langois ends up being OK.
It was also blatantly interference and should have been at least a minor.
Lineup appears mostly the same, as per Dimitri. Major changes is Motew is in, and Coughlin out. Boija listed first on the line sheet, but Dimitri says its unclear who's going in net.
Goes without saying, but BC deserves a ton of credit for their performance last night. They executed flawlessly on almost all of their offensive chances and made the right plays to put themselves in a position for success. I hadn't really watched them play before yesterday but I saw a team...
I dont know if they showed it on TV, but the view from the camera in the net on the second goal looks really bad for Boija. He almost just tried to fall at it with his glove stuck out and kinda just missed it. I know it was a cross-ice pass on the PP, but that view in particular makes it look...
I'm fine with the idea of bringing Nobes and Motew back into the lineup. I thought Motew was actually playing really well earlier, I mentioned at one point he was surprising to me because I had him pegged as more of a depth piece but he was playing like a starter. The problem is deciding who to...
Maine got one back and had a great stretch where it looked like they were on an extended power play, but then the very end BC got a few chances.
This game is not over, still winnable. And the scoreboard here at Conte says BC has blocked 16 shots, feels like its way more than that.
Great start, not so good after. Both PKs, but especially the second, were ones they had to have and couldn't get it done.
I said a few weeks ago that the team misses Taylor Makar, and I stand by that even more now.
My final thought on last weekend; I saw some people say they thought Maine played lazy or uninspired, especially on Saturday. I dont agree. I do think they started the game maybe a bit overconfident and maybe a bit arrogant, for maybe the first ten minutes or so, but after that I think they...
Another thing I'll add, I admire Lukas Peterson's confidence at such a young age. He already always wants the puck on his stick in the offensive zone. He definitely has some shit to iron out in his game but confidence is not one of them. He will be a stud someday, already looks like one really.
Was there again tonight. Obviously, this is a game that you expect to win if you're Maine, and one you probably should win. Especially at home. But, in their last two second games of the weekend (tonight and Friday in Amherst), they have one goal on 83 shots, or a 1.2 S%. 0 on 38 down there and...
Great night for Maine. Saw it live, great to be back at Alfond again. The renovations look amazing, even better in person. I thought UVM actually had the better of the play early on, aided by the early PP they got, but once Maine got the 1-0 goal they were the better team until the end. The...
