The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways.

We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.
The attendance record for PWHL/professional league women's games in the US has gone up tonight -- as 14,288 watched Minnesota-NY at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, MI. New York won 4-1.
From Hailey Salvian's story in The Athletic, "PWHL sets U.S. attendance record in Detroit as part of...
Thanks -- I basically went with the home teams!
Sometimes I pick more based on rooting.... for the semis, I'm thinking a leap for a Cornell upset over OSU. So Timothy and I are agreed on that!
Cornell looks to have lost a high-scoring affair to them in October; their defense and goaltending...
A Saints v Sinners final would be interesting, if those two teams advance there.
(edit: Maybe we had this one last year when they met in the Quarterfinals.)
Yes, it seems Emily Clark was around in 2019, after centralizing the previous year and playing in the 2018 Olympics for Canada.
Tangentially, BC itself had Olympic players with Barnes, Keller, and Flanagan winning gold that year -- quite the D corps! They went up against Wisconsin/Canada's...
Quarterfinals
(1) Wisconsin vs (8) Clarkson
(2) Ohio State vs (9) St. Lawrence
(3) Cornell vs (6) UMD
(4) Minnesota vs (5) Colgate
(I can't seem to put more than 10 possibilities in the poll sadly. Edit: So we can have a second poll for other results -- Clarkson plus other upsets.)
(Format of...
The same eight teams as last year will be in the quarterfinals of the NCAA, and I think they're also the same teams as in the past two ECAC and WCHA semifinals! A small upset, in Pairwise terms, of SLU over Penn State 4-1.
Agreed!
Schedule for games:
Penn State v St. Lawrence (at OSU) 7pm Eastern
UMD v Sacred Heart (at Cornell) 7pm
Clarkson v BU (at Wisconsin) 7pm Central
Saturday -
#1 Wisconsin regional 2pm Central
Minnesota v Colgate 2pm Central
#3 Cornell regional 4pm (Eastern)
#2 OSU regional 6pm (Eastern)
The problem with this idea is that Kronish really played incredibly in their playoff run, as I remember it. Yes, maybe the Wisconsin coaches and goalie coach could get you to that level; I don't know! Tournament MVP, from NY, NY.
Any UMD uniform with a bulldog on it gets my vote for best jersey, haha.
As for BU, if they do win, it will be red on red... You may have to switch up some chants!
Good thinking - thanks. I put a poll in the Polls category for women's college hockey (top of the page). That was the only place where a poll choice was showing up. I've only included the first-round games so far!
NCAA first-round predictions, March 13
(8) Clarkson v (10) BU (at Wisconsin)
(6) UMD v (11) Sacred Heart (at Cornell)
(7) Penn State v (9) St. Lawrence (at OSU)
True, I concur.
Your bracket prediction above was correct. Also, last year's national tournament was a rare one in which no upsets happened throughout the tournament. Will that be the case this year too? I know 10 teams and their fans who hope that it is not!
Cornell defeated Colgate yesterday -- 5-1 final! (Cornell's last 2 were empty-netters.) So the Big Red take home the regular-season title and ECAC championship, and they break the Raiders' streak as league champions at 4 years.
The NCAA tournament field looks like it has 4 WCHA teams, 4 ECAC...
Yep, I think so. And SLU-Penn State would be a rematch of their first-round game in last year's NCAA tournament, with Penn State as the higher seed this time.
While UMD has not stayed in the top 5, where TTT envisioned they might end up, this at least means they won't be able to eliminate...
Penn State is leading Mercyhurst 2-1 a little into the 2nd -- after going up 2-0 in the 1st and then losing some ground to the Lakers.
Coming up at 7pm is LIU vs Sacred Heart in the NEWHA finals. It is a chance to see Sacred Heart's goalie Carly Greene on espn+. I just noticed Greene is #1 in...
BU has gone up early 1-0 against Northeastern in the Hockey East championship. Giaquinto scored on a nice one-timer.
Now Northeastern goes on the powerplay.
