    It could be as simple as she didn't want to have to 'compete' with her mother's career at Minn, Or even more simply, she grew up in/around the Cities, and wanted to experience a slice of life 'somewhere else'. Think of the Kessels growing up in Madison but going to school at Minnesota.

    It seemed to me that this year Wisconsin built their non-conference schedule so as to have a "common opponent" in each of the other conferences. If there's no more Pairwise, there's no "common opponent" element to pay attention to. I wonder if going forward, this will change how teams look at NC...

    During the U18 championships at LaBahn - held in June - I would ride my bike with a very collapsable backpack bag thing carrying a sweatshirt and pair of long pants. When I got to LaBahn, I would get dressed for hockey, fold up the bag, stuff it into the sweatshirt pocket, and head on into the rink.

    Paul Braun talked with Adela before today's game, got it right a couple times, and otherwise said that she told him her teammates mostly just call her "Shappy" (the S gives a "sh" sound). So he did, too. The Bemidji guy actually got it right most of the time today.
