Boston University Terriers 2026-2027 season…insert clever title here!

I watched the 3rd period and OT rebroadcast of BC-NU last night. There was NOBODY in Conte. Was this technically an NU ticketed game? Meaning not part of BC's season ticket or student package? That's my guess, so if a BC student or alum with a season ticket wanted to go, they had to buy a ticket.

Second question on that game. Who's the color announcer?

And finally on BU, because, well, you know, this is the BU thread. Team's that stack up come-from-behind wins usually do well in the post season. See the Brewers. It's a good quality to have.

BU Hockey: I Like Their Spunk

All in all an excellent weekend. Maine looked like Maine on Saturday night after Friday’s blowout. Kudos to Lawrence & Malhotra for the comeback. This week’s road trip will be tough. Guess we gotta subscribe to Big10 tv in order to see the games.

So let's talk about this weekend. Last year when we played MSU, BU was ranked #1 and the Spartans were ranked #3. Friday night's game was on national TV. National TV!!!! ESPN2!! And BU was just awful. I called them the Not Ready For Primetime Players afterwards. Saturday night was that OT game where pretty much everyone in the arena, especially the players, thought they won that game in OT. Which, IIRC, shouldn't have gone to OT as they were winning late in the game. Someone correct me if I'm misremembering.

I do remember BU celebrating the OT non goal and then MSU going down the ice to score the actual game winning goal. BU was never the same after that weekend. It wrecked them psychologically I think.

This year, it's definitely different. Michigan State is the better team. But what will we see from them? Even if BU loses both games, will they be close? Will they play well? I would love to see a split. What do you guys think?

I'm making the trip. Looking forward to it!

If one game psychologically wrecked their entire season than they would have been admitted to the asylum eventually anyway.

BU woke Maine up to the reality of playing against a top Hockey East team. BU and Providence are loaded this year. Uconn, Umass, and BC right behind them in offensive talent and skill. I think Maine has a lot of defensively talented players, but there seems to be a serious lack of offensive cohesion between the forwards.

Friday was the statement, 7-2. Saturday was a lot tighter at 3-2, but taking both from a ranked Maine team is a good weekend. The next few weeks will show whether it woke Maine up or exposed something.

Yegorov deservedly earned HEA Defender of the Week.
“Big Mike was huge there for us,” Pandolfo said. “There were a lot of scrambling plays around our net. He made some big saves on rebounds, and the kill did a job there for us to keep it 2-0 and give us a chance at some point to get our game going and find a way.”

Quick sidebar…oddest place you’ve ever watched a BU game…
I got off a cruise ship in Puerto Rico to watch BU lose to NoDak in the 97 finals…at the Hooters in old San Juan. Had to pay the bartender handsomely and then listen as 200 people came up and said “who the heck is watching hockey?”.

Mookie listened to Bernie call the frozen four ot loss to du couple years ago while eating breakfast in a Westin in Tokyo.

I was looking up things about how ticketing is happening for NU during the interim. What I was finding was largely that NU is basically playing all road games. Venues they're playing at are managing all the gate, no NU season ticket packages as a result. Now, I don't know if that also means its not considered a home game for the BC season ticket package or something but it seems with the announced delay to the "new Matthews" timeline NU is really taking a bite.

Caught part of a game on an Amtrak train headed from Waterloo, IN to DC once.
