Two parts to design that need to be done properly. The one everyone knows about is the bridge in its final configuration with live and dead (no pun intended) loads imposed. Then there's those pesky and sometimes quirky construction loads where the falsework has to support the green concrete until it reaches its design strength. Usually these construction loads are addressed by the contractors design engineers (hopefully they have some). Where I usta (new word) work we had a very strong temporary design department to take care of these things. Reed and Reed, well, probably not so good. In fact I once heard a story about a temporary bridge they built on the Golden Road up north that was, shall we say, a little bit shaky in the details. Who knows, I guess we'll find out in time.
