The Dead Thread 2024

My mom. 😢

It’s been a rough couple of months and the past month she’s been in a hospice care home. So, her passing was not unexpected but still a bit of a gut punch. I haven’t left her side since she was admitted to the hospital the first time on April 8th, staying with her in the hospital, rehab and the hospice house, She had Alzheimer’s and her dementia really went down over the course of the two months and I couldn’t leave her.

I have to say that people who work in hospice care are a different breed. The decision to put her into hospice care was difficult but we know we made the right decision for her care. How fortunate we were to have her cared for by such an amazing group of people.

Oh, I'm so sorry for you Scarlet. No matter how our parents depart, it is a gut punch. I hope you carry good memories of your mom. Sending good thoughts your way.

So sorry to hear that. My wife's mother died of dementia. We know what you went through.

Oh dear.

Very, very sorry to hear about your loss, but glad to hear that she got the best care available in the end.
