check out his tape and stats from the 24-25 season. that's when he was riding with Zayne Parekh on a team with Michael Misa, Igor Chernyshov, and Kristian Epperson as the top line (3/4 are NHLers, the last one just won a championship with DU). they were less shit, still run and gun and scary as hell but fun to watch. they didn't buy but they didn't sell either, while this year was pretty stripped down. I think you'll get a better glimpse of what he's like when he isnt surrounded by only high-octane children. the memorial cup team in 2024 was even better, but he was younger and didn't have a big role thenI’m really excited about our blue line this season. I think I know what we have in burzynski and Michael but I’m really intrigued by Guo. Looking at his player card he had some nice transition numbers, which we really need, and basically won every battle he was in. 6’1 190+ lbs. Not small either. And he was on a terrible team in Saginaw. Might have a real player there.

On PuckPreps.com. They have player cards for all CHL/USHL players. I tried to attach the card here but it wouldn’t let me for some reason.Where did you find these numbers?
Not happening. We both have families, stable jobs and other interests. Not that we’re no longer interested inRPI Hockey, after all we both graduated from there, but it’s no longer our main focus. Sorry.Shirley is gone. Hockey is clearly on the move. Time for the return of WithoutAPeer.
Great summary. I am getting overoptimistic as usual at this time of year.Chris and I are going live tonight at 7pm ET on the blog to discuss the offseason and roster https://open.substack.com/live-stream/209107?utm_source=live-stream-scheduled-upsell
I agree that it was a solid roundup of the last few months. I too am feeling very good about the direction of the program but I think Steve and Chris did a good job of setting expectations. This is a multi-year process and although getting more major junior players this summer will accelerate the process, it's not an instant panacea. College hockey is a bit of a different game involving more practice time and older, stronger players. Not all the guys moving from the CHL saw the success some expected and teams that grabbed as many as they could did not necessarily get all the assumed benefits. Coaches still have be construct a varied roster to play under all game situations and implement a consistent system for a 200 foot game. Thankfully, I think we have the guys to do it. I'm expecting home ice this year and, if we can keep the heart of our roster along with some targeted recruits, I hope for a bye in '27-'28 and a trip to Lake Placid. We'll see if that's too optimistic, but I do have a minimum expectation that I think is very reasonable given the staff and roster - a return of some excitement to HFH.Great summary. I am getting overoptimistic as usual at this time of year.
As previously reported, Felix Caron and his Ohio State squad will be in Troy Oct 9 & 10.Homecoming is scheduled for the second weekend in October this year. A lot of schools try to schedule Homecoming for a weekend when the football team will be hosting a team they can be expected to beat, so the returning alumni can leave with good feelings after seeing a win. But since RPI's football schedule shows them playing at Buffalo State that weekend, obviously that strategy isn't going to work this year.
It seems to me that it is once again questionable, after all the transfers in and out, how cohesive a unit RPI will be able to put on the ice during the early weeks of the season, which makes it difficult to identify any easy marks. But I suppose our athletic director is frantically trying to search for a hockey opponent who (a) is willing to come to Troy that weekend and (b) might be beatable.
Well, you guys did a great job and I very much enjoyed WaP. Wish RPI admin had valued hockey 1/10 as much as WaP did!Not happening. We both have families, stable jobs and other interests.
