I guess.

Someone I read, probably multiple people, said if Trump won, he’d destroy everything as quickly as possible, damn the legalities. Just destroy, Project 2025-style. By the time a court rules against him, if they even do, the real-world damage is already done, almost impossible to repair, at least quickly. And so it was.

…will American voters continue to be too fat, drunk, and stupid to remember the entire Republican Party is implicated in this shitstorm, as politicians who still have an R behind their name after all of this the last decade clearly are okay with 99% of it? Pero, porque los demócratas cannot fix the damage in 2 years, much less 4…this cycle repeats itself…

How to break the cycle…

Once they are sealed in an information container, they have no way of knowing Dump is doing it. Their landmarks are removed. Facticity disappears. It's a "brain in a vat" experiment in real life. If your perception of the truth is altered, your world is altered.

Cults persist for long periods by using sophisticated, coercive control tactics that systematically isolate members from outside perspectives, creating intense dependency. They maintain power through a mix of charismatic leadership, fear-mongering, and high-pressure manipulation—such as guilt, shame, and information control—which reconstructs a member's reality.

Republican voters have been conditioned by an acid bath of disinformation for 50 years to be dependent on the very people who despoil them. They are like those North Koreans who sincerely love their ruling elite.

What about the Hovey voters, the ones who aren’t too stupid to vote Trump, but think they’re far smarter than us regular Democratic voters by voting for “moderate” Republicans like Susan Collins?

One of the most depressing things ever was standing in the buffet line at the 2006 Democratic State Convention and listening to a group of delegates talk about how lucky we were to get to vote for moderates like Susan Collins and Olympia Snowe.

Delegates. At the Democratic Convention. I wanted to slap them.

Incidentally, Janet Mills put the final nail to her US Senate primary challenge into her own coffin by vetoing a moratorium on data centers. She also talked up a proposed data center being planned in Jay, ME - a former mill town. The pollution from those mills still floats past my house every Spring. Can't wait to see what data centers do to our environment. Not to mention utility prices.

As if on cue, the GQP is proposing legislation to build a ballroom.

On cue, indeed.

The US Department of J Justice has used the weekend shooting in Washington DC to pressure a preservation group to drop a lawsuit seeking to halt the construction of Donald Trump’s White House ballroom.

Several Trump administration officials, including the president, seized on the incident at the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner to advance their case for the completion of the controversial $400m project, for which the White House’s East Wing was suddenly demolished, arguing the new ballroom was needed as a “safe space”.

On Sunday night, Todd Blanche, the acting attorney general, posted on social media a letter to lawyers representing the National Trust for Historic Preservation (NTHP) calling the trust’s lawsuit “frivolous”. It demanded that the organization voluntarily withdraw it or face a new dismissal motion from the Department of Justice.

“Put simply, your lawsuit puts the lives of the President, his family, and staff at grave risk,” the letter, signed by Brett Shumate, assistant attorney general of the justice department’s civil division, said.

“I hope yesterday’s narrow miss will help you finally realize the folly of a lawsuit that literally serves no purpose except to stop President Trump no matter the cost.”

wait, so there's not 400M in donations covering it??

all the mouthbreathers said it was ok because it was donations and not taxpayer dollars. Yet, this will all be ok.....

c'mon Canada, process my app. I'm sick of this fucking hellhole

Well, her last name is Mills. Someone probably told her they wanted to replace the Mills and she got confused

So Reagan gets shot outside the same Washington Hilton after being invited for a speaking engagement, yet returned five more times to the hotel where it happened without whining about needing a fortified Ballroom.

Meanwhile the slumlord King* wants a ballroom where he can charge these groups "donations" to host their event in *his* space, in *his* honor.

* Don't get me started on his landlord special in touching up the reflecting pool on the national mall. His "quick fix" does nothing for the actual issues detailed in the multi-million repair authored under Biden.

Ballroom Republicans.

That's the bumper sticker. Hang that around every one of these GOP fucks necks.

Well, King Charles tears Donnie a new one before Congress, albeit in that most polite, sophisticated, reserved English manner, and the Repubs in Congress are so fucking stupid they were giving him standing ovations for it.
