All that snow out there is gonna be 2-3" of rain here with 60 mph wind.
I had to walk to a computer lab to do some coursework in that storm. On the radar, it had rotation seemingly like a hurricane (but obviously not).Really reminds me of the Early April Blizzard in 2007 that set all sorts of single and multi-day benchmarks... Low key kind of glad NMU Men's BouncyBall didn't win the GLIAC and end up hosting their NCAA Regional. That would have been a mess.
Yup... Same basic setup as this storm, albeit a bit less wind... Radar was just one continuous blue streak flowing inland off of Lake Superior.I had to walk to a computer lab to do some coursework in that storm. On the radar, it had rotation seemingly like a hurricane (but obviously not).
I came here to post the same thing, why did last night's storm hate hockey? Any word on if the ice cube is ok? Still seems crazy Yost and Vet's both damagedApparently, Mother Nature wants to stop hockey in Ann Arbor....
We had a really bad storm roll across southern Michigan last night, and got woke up at 1:30 for a tornado warning- which passed through about 15 min after that. Have not confirmed any touchdowns, BUT, two buildings got some significant wind damage- one was Yost Ice Arena lost part of it's roof, and on the west side of town, Veterans Ice Rink had a wall blown down.
Lots of trees down in town, and some homes were damaged by that. But it sounds that nobody was hurt.
You guys out west ok? We saw these storms rolled over you pretty hard, too.The hockey gods demand more outdoor hockey.
(Glad nobody was hurt!)
Grand Rapids:You guys out west ok? We saw these storms rolled over you pretty hard, too.
I'm more Lansing area than West Michigan. We were lucky here, mostly rain and lightning. The Grand River is quite full, but not flooding. The smaller rivers around the area (Red Cedar, Looking Glass) are flooding as usual. You guys out west ok? We saw these storms rolled over you pretty hard, too.
