Just saw a piece from the AP showing that the electricity bills in rural WV have gone totally nuts. The state declared they will go full on coal, even though the plants are not efficient, and dirty. And coal prices have gone way up, while miners are not getting any more pay. So stores are closing because the power is costing more than rent. Even though they don't use much- just a store with HVAC in one.
They still like the moron even though his policies are why they are suffering so much.

The way I think I see what happened was they voted to specifically use coal, even though it’s way more expensive than natural gas. It’s not regulations that did that, it was drill baby drill. Regulations made it worse, but market forces does what it does.
Let alone they thought they were voting for their jobs, which didn’t happen.
They got had so many times by grifters, and still can’t put it together. Their tribe isn’t going to bail them out, the mine owners will bet bail outs. Who don’t need them.
