Transfer Portal 2026

My read on it is NIL money is not prevalent or it would have moved big time players or up and comers. The players are happy and committed to their teams and coaches. I like that. I value loyalty above almost all else. The NEWHA always has a ton of players in the portal.

On the WCHA side, Kato lost practically nothing, while St. Cloud, UMD and Tommies lost quite a bit. Kato may be poised to solidify 5th place and challenge UMD and UM for 3rd.
Laila Edwards had NIL deals with Biosteel, Red Bull and some others yet she needed help to get her family over to see her play in the Olympics. There are no hockey players in the top 100 women's NIL deal tracker.

That answer is incredibly simple…. Money.
The landscape has changed… the thinking in Madison has not.
I like not paying players to play for you but unfortunately it happens and is rampant at your main nemesis.
Stilettos has no morales… she will do whatever it takes to win.
The innuendo towards Ohio State players being paid rampantly is amusing to say the least. If you're going to make a claim, even veiled throw some evidence out there, names & figures.

210 men's players entered their transfer portal today, the first day of the "one-time" undergrad transfer period (which isn't one-time anymore, is it...)
