UMaine 25-26: Marques My Word: Back to the Big Time

I simmed all remaining regular season games with home teams winning unless there was a sizable difference in NPI. Maine finished with 20 wins and was 15th in NPI before the Hockey East tournament. Maine would need to make it to Boston to get an NCAA invite, and probably need to win the Friday game to protect against any upsets elsewhere. Of course, repeating as champions would guarantee them a spot, and probably a 3 seed. The Black Bears have a decent history in the Albany regional... Just sayin...
Maine, historically, kicks ass and takes names in Albany.

That means absolutely nothing going forward, but what great memories I have there.

(Harvard, Frankie Doyle, coming back from 4-1 in the 3rd, just heroic stuff. I'll never forget that one.)

Ya, while I may agree, that's unfortunately not how the law works.
I guess if you say something like that about someone’s mother then you get what you deserve.

I think this snowflake society has lost all manners and sense of what is right and wrong.

In the end, this will be seen by the NHL hockey community as a positive thing. He likely solidified his position as top draft pick.

It might be illegal, but it was the right thing to do.

Only snowflakes would cry about how they should be able to say vulgar things about someone’s mother and didn’t deserve their mouth broken loose for it.

I think most would take the position that the guy had it coming if the rumors are true, but also that if you make the choice to assault someone (and it isn't self-defense, and in this case it seems it was not self-defense) then you should be charged accordingly. I feel like this is something almost everyone should be able to agree with.

"The guy had it coming, drop the charges" doesn't cut it. Seems like a few people made poor choices that night, McKenna being one of them.

nothing is going to happen to him except lost some future earnings in a civil case

That is my point. He probably goes back to WHL and plays out the year there. The courts system lets this thing hang forever. A settlement gets agreed upon. Charges either get dropped or dropped down to a misdemeanor. He gets drafted 1st overall and is known as someone that kicked someone’s ass for talking vulgar shit to his Mom… elbows up poster child for Canada.

So these kids fight in juniors because someone runs one of their teammates. They drop the gloves and punch each other several times and skate off to the cheering of the crowd. Their coaches are happy for showing toughness. Teammates clap board with their sticks. And we think that this guy won’t throw down with some drunken buffoon that calls his mother a whore? Well that “victim” running his mouth f***’d around and found out. I applaud Gavin for sticking up for his mother.

It was an easy and good decision.

He will be fine and it will not be a black mark on his legacy as a player. People will like him for it.

You sound like you have issues. Trump should have been punched a thousand times by now....and he would have deserved everyone of them.....right?
