I don't buy that we're quite at the point of defections. However, since ICE has proven to be little more than his not-so-secret police, it's safe to assume Donnie's intent is to intimidate them into not trashing him and his incompetent, fashie cabal in the press. Plus, it's the Winter Olympics - far fewer minority athletes and minority audience - so compliance is more likely.

I say it's more of a dry run for when he has to do it in 2 years to put a clamp on the black sprinters and gymnasts. Or threaten to do it to ensure more white athletes are picked to represent the country, even if they aren't the best.

Jason Robertson, Alex DeBrincat, and Cole Caufield all have 30 goals and are all in the top 5 in the NHL this season.

And none of them are on Team USA.

In other news, Lindsay Vonn was airlifted off the mountain after a crash in a World Cup downhill race.
 
WTF would Universal (1) turn down that good IP publicity, and (2) replace it with awful Corporate Scumbag publicity?
 
You may have heard that Lindsey Vonn totally blew out her ACL in a recent race.

She's still going to race the downhill this Sunday.

What a bad ass. She is one of the toughest people on the planet.
 
Meh. I would admire her much more if she would step aside and let an alternate have a shot. At this point, she is risking whatever is left of her knee that has already been repaired at least 2-3 times. That isn't "bad ass", it's more like "dumbass", not to mention arrogant and egotistical (but since when was that ever a problem for her?)

And yes, I would say the same thing if she had a twig and berries. I didn't care for Bode Miller either, but at least she has the medals to back it up, I suppose.

I always preferred Super G anyway - almost the same speed, but a shorter and much more intense event.

Given that she recently won, again, it may be reasonable to think that she's better than the alternative.

As for the arrogant, egotistical... given the risk of downhill, I actually think they all have to be.
 
I'll bet there is a long suffering but obscure athlete who is healthy and could perform at the top of her game and make a great memory but fuck it this is more lucrative and we get a cliche up close and personal and maybe a fireside with Bryant Gumbel or is he the one that died?

This is commerce but people will eat it up with cherries on top like it's noble.

You need to be specific on that- what sport, or are you even talking a specific event?

Could be Lance Stroll in F1. Could be a number of hangers on in Tennis. Tiger Woods? Jager?
