UMass Lowell 2025-2026: Youth will be served

Last home win was November 1st. 2 goals in their last 5 home games. Read that last line again ... 2 goals TOTAL in their last 5 home games. 3 straight home games where Lowell has given up just 2 goals (before empty netters) and all losses.

And now, dead last in Hockey East.

They're playing hard. They do have 4 wins against teams that were ranked when they played them. They're giving up their bodies for their teammates, the fans, the coaching staff and their school. It's remarkable to see that they're a -6 on the year in Hockey East goals, which is impressive considering where they are in the standings (UMass is a -3 but is right in the middle of the league).

At the end of the day, the lack of offensive talent just stands out.

I don't know what to say anymore.
I'll say it Norm time is up it's obvious hasn't recruited well last few years sad to say Scott stats don't lie

It's been that way for several years now. I didn't think they really tested the Maine goalie last night. The PP let them down, 0-6 on the night, (0-4 in the 3rd) with just 5 shots. They need to improve on faceoffs too. Maine won the faceoff battle 35-19. Hopefully they can find the back of the net tonight.

I think this team is the most talented Norm has had in the past few seasons, yet there has been no improvement in scoring. The recruiting pipeline looks grim, and any transfer with scoring ability will likely not produce in this system.

Haven't had a good solid score since I left the school couple of decent guys but no hundred point players

They've only had 24 100-point scorers in the Division 1 era (43 years), and 8 in the last 25 years, so it's not like we've always had a lot of those guys.

Pretty much exactly what I was thinking. Three different games ... all played out in 62+ minutes.
Another frustrating night as they let Maine off hook again this season. I felt the game was lost when they gave up that goal 20 seconds after going up by 2. Up 5-3 with 10 minutes to go with all the momentum. Then it was like a switch went off and they became very tentative and slow moving with the puck in their own zone resulting in turnovers.

That "switch went off" is a perfect way to say it. Everything they did wrong when they were down 3-0 ... they went back to that mode. Everything that they did to get the fie straight goals, they just stopped playing that way.
