UMass Lowell 2025-2026: Youth will be served

Kudos to Eddy on not backing down- Boisvert grew up in boxing rings and had to choose between that and hockey so he's a good fighter. He doesn't fight because he's too useful to the team on the ice.

Who had Nate Misskey wrap-around OT game winner on their bingo card? I didn't and paying attention to the obscure Sharks draft picks is my entire brand. It took people a while to realize what even happened too

A few other nuggets from last night:

Misskey is only the 4th freshman defenseman with an OT goal in Lowell's Division 1 era. The other 3 all were at home: Paul Ames vs Babson in 1984, Zack Kamrass against PC in the 2012 HE quarterfinals, Christian Folin in 2014 against Northeastern.

Lowell was 0-6-12 all-time against BU in overtime before last night.

Lowell has 3 SHG from defensemen this season. The last time that happened was 2012-13. The most they've ever had in a single season from D-men was 4 in 1979-80, 1980-81, and 1992-93.

Lowell has now won 3 straight games against ranked teams away from Tsongas, something they haven't done since 2021.

Typical BU response to losing the game. Give little or no credit to the team you lost to since you are better than them.
Also the BU announcers kept mention the age of the UML players. A regular talking point for BU
They're the two worst play-by-play guys in the entire conference. They don't even bother trying to pronounce names of players on other teams correctly and say the same 2 or 3 things over and over again every game.

Another disappointing result at home. 2-6 this year at home, 11-26-5 the last three seasons. Just not acceptable.

With the new year, one thing changed. We went from winning Friday and losing Saturday, to now the opposite, with three straight weekends losing on Saturday after winning Friday.

They are averaging 1.5 goals this season at home too. Tonight was my first time seeing them in the 2nd half. I thought they played with good energy and skated well against BU, but they are just offensively inept. I really don’t understand why they score more on the road. It’s like the Tsongas is cursed.

Lowell attempted 58 shots for the game, 23 were on net, 14 missed the net and 21 were blocked.

Thanks, instead of inept, I should have said they can’t finish. They are inefficient with their shot selection, given those possession numbers.
