They claim it was hacked, but this seems legit...

If I understand correctly the Warner Bros Discovery deal according to Trump is supposed to include selling off CNN instead of making it part of the deal?

This is correct...sort of.

So WBD wants to split off the TV Networks into "Discovery Networks" and Warner Brothers/HBO. The idea would be that Discovery would own the rights to TBS, TNT, CNN and the rest (not HBO) and they would be independent of Warner Brothers Studios. Same thing Comcast/Universal did with most of their networks like CNBC, MSNBC and so on. They never intended for one buyer to buy it all.

That is one of the reasons the Netflix deal is what "won". Netflix was fine just buying the studio and the back catalog. Paramount wants all of it...no two companies all of them owned by Skydance/Paramount. This creates a lot of logistical problems and makes "Antitrust" (even with this DOJ and especially in Europe) a real issue. That is why it was funny when Ellison went on TV calling the merger of the #1 and #3 streamers an Antitrust Violation since what he was doing would actually be a bigger violation. And it isn't like the deal would be safe come 2028...

The Netflix deal is the "safer" deal because Netflix doesn't care about networks they want the studio. Zazlov also I believe makes more on the Netflix deal to the tune of $500 million personally. (not sure why cause I dont care enough to look)

I'm to lazy to go searching for it, but I am 100% certain this is a trump tweet out there from during Biden's or Obama's terms when the market was at all time highs of trump saying that the market is not the economy and that it was a bad thing.

Speaking of fake: https://www.wsj.com/economy/jobs/fe...drastically-overstating-jobs-numbers-741c635d

Fed Chair Jerome Powell pointed on Wednesday to a job-market risk that economists have been worried about for months: Official statistics could be drastically overstating recent hiring.

Powell said that Fed staffers believe that federal data could be overestimating job creation by up to 60,000 jobs a month. Given that figures published so far show that the economy has added about 40,000 jobs a month since April, the real number could be something more like a loss of 20,000 jobs a month, Powell said.

“We think there’s an overstatement in these numbers,” Powell said in a press conference following the central bank’s two-day policy meeting.

Published data already show the labor market has slowed significantly this year, down from rapid hiring after the Covid-19 pandemic. This slower pace means big data revisions can more easily reveal the economy is shedding jobs, not adding them.

“It’s a complicated, unusual, and difficult situation, where the labor market is also under pressure, where job creation may actually be negative,” Powell said.

Plenty of college educated libs have good paying jobs with good 401ks are benefitting more than the rubes from the middle of nowhere working in the mines who think the orange man will give them jobs breathing coal dust.

My company's stock is up 230% in the past six months, so this. And the vast majority of that is fairy dust. Don't get me wrong, it's a great company that makes great products very much in need, but still a P/E over 200 is ridiculous. Selling ESPPs/RSUs the second they become available because this is all a massive bubble that is going to pop and it is good to get out of it with hard cash.

It has occurred to me that this economy benefits Liberals far, far more than Conservatives.

.01 Wealthy Conservatives -- $$$$$$$$$$
.01 Wealthy Liberals -- $$$$$$$$$$
.05 Upper Middle Conservatives -- $
.30 Upper Middle Liberals -- $
.63 Everybody Else (.44 Conservatives, .19 Liberals) -- TOTALLY FUCKED

Or to put it another way Dump, is destroying the lives of 38% of Liberals and 88% of Conservatives.
