2025-26 Division III Women's Hockey

Had a parent tell me Gustavus beat Hamline 8-3 in exhibition but it was tight going into 3rd. No clue how they handled the rosters or playing time.

Concordia - MN topped Jamestown ACHA 5-1 in a controlled exhibition.

In exhibition action, Framingham State women were up 1-0 on the UMass Amherst ACHA team but lost 5-1.

Looking forward to the season finally starting! Lots of MIAC vs NCHA games in the first week, but expecting the MIAC to dominate most of those matchups. Adrian and SNC are both retooling and most likely won't be a match for Augsburg and Gustavus out of the gate. The game that might get interesting is Concordia WI vs St Mary's. Both had spurts of playing some really good hockey, bring back scoring, and should match up well. They split last year, with CUW winning a close one and SMU dominating the other.

Game circled on the calendar is two weekends away, UWRF vs Augsburg. Should be a great early test for both and one to watch.

I haven't witnessed any of the games myself, but Norwich defeated Suffolk 8-1 and Plymouth 2-0 in exhibition games. Interestingly, the Plymouth scrimmage was closed to the public? Not sure I have seen that before for a D3 vs D3 game.

Big test for the Cadets right out of the gate at Plattsburgh on Friday at 3pm.

Plattsburgh shuts out Norwich 3-0 (ENG). 2 goals from Morris and one from Kasprzak, meaning all three goals from the 2nd line which is the only full holdover line combo from last season. The first year duo of Keller and MacKellar (RIP play by play announcers) paired with sophomore Conlon had great chemistry (which makes sense given Keller and MacKellar played together at Nichols) and were the most creative offensively but they also left the defense exposed. Lewis had to make some great saves due to uncharacteristic turnovers but she made all of them.

Wilkes defeated Cortland 3-2 with a 3rd period goal from Haylee Bouchard. Wilkes struck first on a goal from Abby Bush. Cortland forward Emma McLean (a Plattsburgh transfer) tied it a few moments later, and she put the Red Dragons up 2-1 with her goal in the 2nd. Nina Hudakova tied it for the Colonels midway through the 3rd with Bouchard netting the game winner 4 minutes later.

St. John's Fisher beats Neumann 2-1 in their program opener.
Buff State defeats King's 9-1
Plymouth State 2 - Salem State 0
WNEU 3 - Worcester State 1
Elmira 2 - Salve Regina 0
Canton 3 - Stevenson 1, with a short handed goal opening scoring.
Marion defeats Beloit 5-2
UNE overcomes conceding the first goal and beats USM 2-1
Hamline defeats Aurora 4-0, 3 points from Grace Delmonico who transferred in from St. Cloud State.
Nichols defeats Framingham State 3-2.
UW-Eau Claire defeats Concordia (MN) 3-1. UWEC's Gretta Pioske's 2 goals tonight match her 2 goals in 14 games from last season.

A lot of great action tonight that is either currently in progress or to start soon, including St. Mary's vs Concordia (WI), Adrian vs Augsburg, and Gustavus vs St. Norbert

Castleton is leading Oswego 2-0 near the end of the third and shots on goal are close to even so it's not like the Spartans' goalie is stealing one.

Auggies bear Adrian 4-1, and outshoot them 40-21.

Adrian didn't play their leading scorer or starting goalie from last season despite both being on the roster...I think Augsburg likely wins either way but it's noteable that they would go without them for their season opener against a ranked foe.

Gusties defeat SNC 3-2.

Word is that Adrian's 2024-25 starting goalie Annie Gilbert recently entered the portal.
Heard there was a big incident at Adrian and the captain Johnson, (leading scorer last year) and the goaltender have stepped away. Multiple upperclassmen are also maybe thinking portal for 2nd semester

Chad Davis taketh and he giveth away

Heard the same thing, hoping Houle keeps his eye out for anyone who enters the portal that can score

Eau Claire beats Concordia (MN) 2-0. Jordan Hancock, a Utica transfer, gets her 2nd assist in as many games on her new squad.
Buff State sweeps King's with a 5-1 win. Kaylee Cadez with 5 assists and Dakota Carlson with a hat trick plus one (is that a sombrero in hockey too?)
St. John Fisher sweeps Neumann with a 2-0 win. Nichols Prep grad Brynn Bacak started both games in net for the new program.
SNC gets the split against GAC with a 2-1 OT win.
Augsburg sweeps beleagured Adrian 3-2.
Oswego got the split with Castleton in a 3-2 win.
Hamline sweeps Aurora with a 5-0 shutout win. Brooke Klemz and Nina Thorson each with 3 points in the game. Klemz is tied with transfer Delmonico for 4 points on the season, she seems poised to blow past her 7 point total from 2024-25.
SMU splits with CUW on a 1-0 win.
Endicott with a 1-0 shutout over USM to open their season.
