Rage bait has always been a reliable Rightwing strategy to get attention (Limbaugh, Hannity, Jones, Carlson, Dump). Only a matter of time before it migrated from politics to marketing.

As that Reddit thread points out, she was in tears a few years ago as conservative women said not nice things about her and her face.
 
I think it's much more likely a case of a dimwit with a Nazi family. I doubt SS (a-HA!) has any political concepts more complex than "lower my taxes so I can buy more toys," like 95% of athletes and entertainers.
