Climate Change: This Rock Will Soon Be Uninhabitable

MissThundercat

Are the cis okay?
Editorial in the NYT this morning: "Give up air conditioning."

I'll give up AC when Taylor Swift gives up 11 minute flights.

Stop reading the NYT, folks. This "rock" is gonna be around for a few more million years, maybe even with us still on it, until or unless some bozo in the Middle East pushes the big red button. I have it on good authority ...

So, uh, this doesn't seem good...

I never really come to this thread, but seeing the r response of the rain that cause the flooding in Texas- we are so screwed.

Many of them are convinced that it was cloud seeding that cause it and want to ban cloud seeding (and have introduced a bill banning it).

Clearly to deny the fact that this degree of really bad rain storms have been predicted by all climate change models. The only way these states get on with climate change is if they get charged a climate change fee in their insurance- as I can't see any reasonable insurance company sticking around. And we know FEMA isn't going to bail anyone out.

The irony of directly blaming humans causing the rain when it's so very likely that human consumption is leading to warming and harsher weather....

Did you see the nutters who are going around damaging satellite equipment to protest the deep state altering the weather??

I remember years ago when Vail was experimenting with cloud seeding. IIRC, in terms of making more snow for their resorts, it was inconsistent and not very cost-effective. But hey, Republicans will stop at nothing to blame anything except the obvious.

I did. And it makes me feel a whole lot less sorry for people who die because they could not be warned.

Even saw a report that the county where the flooding took place were given money to spend on weather warning systems. They specifically DIDN'T use it because it was given to them by the Biden administration and at the same time, they kept it so that blue areas would not have access to it.
