    TDM says it's also unclear if Castro will be back. A different article by Todd also says that Hastings is in no rush to fill the assistant coach position. He's considering making it some sort of hybrid coaching/general manager spot that may or may not include on ice coaching.

    It's interesting that two or possibly three recruits bailed before the assistants were announced. Why not just wait and see who got hired? Were they under the gun as far as getting in the portal before it closed for them? It seems like they made decisions possibly in haste.

    I feel bad for Frosty since his contract expired and he wasn't fired, he probably not getting any buyout money or anything. The guy has bills to pay and a family to feed. The way UM did this is a rather cut throat. I wonder if he'd be interested in filling the vacant assistant coaching spot...
