The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways.
Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar.
We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.
You're wrong about engineering - Harvard has had engineering as an offering for over 40 years. I know because one of my friends was an engineering major.
I never referred to Quinnipiac as a community college or second rate school. It has a terrific business program. My post wasn't about...
It has nothing to do with jealousy. I never said you guys were breaking the rules, did I? My point was that the ECAC is NOT a level playing field. If schools choose not to participate in NIL or the portal, they should be punished for it? Really? You guys joined the ECAC coming from D-2 - you...
I went to the Niagara website to get some info on Jason Lammers. Here are three paragraphs that stood out to me:
"Off the ice, the team was equally impressive, carrying a combined GPA of 3.52 for the 2018-19 academic year. In total, 23 athletes earned a spot on the Atlantic Hockey All-Academic...
You guys post as if Quinnipiac plays in the AHL. The fact is you play in a conference where academics are relevant and where treating athletic teams like they are pro franchises will never happen. It's fine if you want to act that way but you should leave for a conference where other schools...
I wouldn't mind putting a dent in Dartmouth's momentum by taking one of their coaches. Maybe he brings Foley and Stavroff with him. I'm guessing it will either be Lammers or Rassey. Rassey coached here under Teddy. Not sure he would want to leave Michigan to go back to the Ivies.
I wrote this a while back during the whole Katey Stone debacle - that Harvard used to win most of the recruiting battles in the early 2000s only losing out to Dartmouth and maybe SLU. That all changed when the NCAA took over women's hockey and the Midwest schools came on board followed by Hockey...
Only four recruits for this incoming class is really sad. This won't help the program because the D once again will be all right shots. Bellamy needs someone to help her with recruiting and understanding what it will take to compete in the ECAC and nationally. This is embarrassing.
By now, everyone should know about the proposed 5 to 5 rule change the NCAA is considering for men's college hockey. This podcast is a good starting point for understanding what is at stake: https://www.uscho.com/2026/05/12/podcast-ecacs-christiansen-discusses-ncaa-5-in-5-eligibility-proposal...
Agree with your points on NIL and the portal. No coach who has aspirations of winning a NC will come to Harvard if the University doesn't have a policy in place and is ready to execute it. I think once Paul Pearl left, the staff support that Teddy counted on went with him. Harvard is notorious...
Jealous? Of you guys? Seriously? You have no problem trolling our thread and taking shots at a coach who is retiring and yet we can't respond. Get a life.
2008 ECAC Quarterfinals: Harvard won the best-of-three series 2–0.
2016 ECAC Championship: Quinnipiac defeated Harvard 4–1 in the title game.
2022 ECAC Championship: Harvard defeated No. 1 seed Quinnipiac 3–2 (OT) to claim the Whitelaw Cup.
2023 ECAC Championship: Quinnipiac won 3–2 (OT)...
Since Harvard has stated they are embarking on a national search, I would imagine a new coach won't be named until at least the middle of June. Maybe longer. It's also possible that the new coach could bring several players with him if Harvard allows for it. I think something similar happened...
It's more than Keith Allain. Every Ivy hockey school will now have a new head coach - Whittet stepping down at Brown, Princeton replacing their coach two years ago, Cashman at Dartmouth (he isn't leaving according to a good friend who is a Dartmouth grad and works with the athletic department)...
