The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways.
Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar.
We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.
Brother you're a St. Norbert "fan" who trolls just this thread and doesn't even talk about the team he allegedly roots for. I get it, y'all hate one another, you're mad Utica knocked y'all out last season after talking all that shit, but just give it a break
There's a scenario where they play every postseason game at the Aud and that's just a win for so many people.
A Frozen Four with Hobart, Hamilton and Utica would be a money printer for that building
And of course I was wrong by under two tenths....but this bracket honestly feels a lot better:
CCC: UNE (7)
Little East: Babson (12)
MAC: Stevenson (31)
MASCAC: Fitchburg State (34)
MIAC: Bethel (30)
NCHA: Adrian (8)
NESCAC: Hamilton (2)
SUNYAC: Hobart (1)
UCHC: Utica (6)
WIAC: Eau-Claire (16)...
Snowed in so here's today's edition of Bracketology. This is the no-flights edition of the bracket, which works perfect for money and sucks if you're a fan of Hobart/Adrian/Oswego
As a note, I don't think two wins for Norbert would put them in an at-large spot this week, but if it does, this...
You would've thought that was a old rival the way they played this weekend, my god
Another 6 points though, and with other results around the conference, Utica just needs to finish 6-2 down the stretch to clinch the #1 seed in the UCHC
Also two fun facts because I was curious:
Utica's last regular season loss to a team not ranked or receiving votes in the USCHO poll - 11/23/19 vs Elmira
Utica's record post-holiday break (regular season and conference tournament) since COVID - 66-2-1
So yes, anyone that overestimates early...
I just think people are ignorant and were also praying on Utica's downfall honestly
The average NPI for teams Utica has lost to comes out to 4.8, and have played the 3rd hardest schedule of the Top 20 in the NPI so far
If Utica can run the table and win the UCHC, which the only big hurdle in...
Salve Regina 2025-26 will be the first instance of people going to be complaining of the NPI system at large and we're all just going to have to sit here and be like....they're not wrong
So through tonight's game, this is what I have. It's the no flights until the Frozen Four version, which is fun. There's ways you can add flights to make it a true bracket but like we've established, who knows if that's going to happen
CNE: Endicott (3)
Little East: Norwich (19)
MAC: Neumann...
It bodes the question for the teams near the top: would you rather have the first round bye and sit home, or play Week 1, boat race a team that is obviously lesser which can only build momentum as you move on
Also, in a day where Utica did not see the ice, jumped in the NPI from 15 to 9.
Realistically, they have a squad and schedule where they can run the table, and if they can, they might be able to pay themselves into at least 1 home NCAA tournament game
Geneseo dropped two points to last place Manhattanville tonight, which puts Utica firmly in the driver's seat for the UCHC regular season title at the present moment
It really comes down to whether or not the NCAA values in terms of bracket integrity vs potential cost.
Both options do work, his probably a little more than mine, but my option does set up a potential QF of
1v7
2v6
3v8
4v5
whereas the D3 Hockey version sets up a potential:
1v8
2v6
3v7
4v5...
