The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways.
Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar.
We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.
Going into the postseason for most conferences, here's where we stand. Some very good potential QF matchups in my opinion:
CNE: UNE (4)
Little East: Norwich (16)
MAC: Neumann (32)
MASCAC: Anna Maria (25)
MIAC: Saint John’s (21)
NCHA: Adrian (5)
NESCAC: Hamilton (2)
SUNYAC: Hobart (1)
UCHC...
This is a fun one because you have two West teams in Adrian and Aurora who haven't earned byes, and the NCAA looking like they are going to uphold that, so there's 3 ways I could figure out that the bracket could go, depending on how many flights they are willing to do
CNE: UNE (7)
Little East...
The problem they have it really just no key wins. Geneseo is their best win, which isn't bad at #16, but you drop two to Hobart, one to Utica, which probably just one of those wins has them in the Top 10
Coupled with the fact that you tie Williams and lose to Canton at home, when home games are...
With a nice shuffling at the top, including now an All-East Top 4 for the time being, I thought this would be a fun one to look at. This option is the NCAA pays for 3 flights to make it have the most bracket integrity option
CNE: UNE (8)
Little East: Babson (9)
MAC: Stevenson (34)
MASCAC...
They're a great team, but they're not world enders in my opinion.
Really since they've played Utica in November, they haven't seen great competition (this poster thinks Oswego is a tad overrated, but that's another topic for another time), so you don't really know how they're going to match up...
Trine and Oswego faced off in Round 1 and were 515 miles apart, so their is precedent. I'm leaning on the theory that they will allow for as few flights as possible while also holding the most integrity possible.
A 3v5 and 4v6 quarterfinal is a fair compromise in my opinion
We're into the final month of the regular season! Here's where I think the bracket would stand. With a 10/4 spilt with both byes in the East, this is I think the easiest and fairest interpretation of the bracket, with only 1 flight necessary before the Frozen Four
CNE: UNE (6)
Little East...
And with a sweep this weekend and an Oswego loss tonight, suddenly Utica is in the Top 4 in the NPI and in the sweet spot to have home ice throughout the tournament
Brother you're a St. Norbert "fan" who trolls just this thread and doesn't even talk about the team he allegedly roots for. I get it, y'all hate one another, you're mad Utica knocked y'all out last season after talking all that shit, but just give it a break
There's a scenario where they play every postseason game at the Aud and that's just a win for so many people.
A Frozen Four with Hobart, Hamilton and Utica would be a money printer for that building
And of course I was wrong by under two tenths....but this bracket honestly feels a lot better:
CCC: UNE (7)
Little East: Babson (12)
MAC: Stevenson (31)
MASCAC: Fitchburg State (34)
MIAC: Bethel (30)
NCHA: Adrian (8)
NESCAC: Hamilton (2)
SUNYAC: Hobart (1)
UCHC: Utica (6)
WIAC: Eau-Claire (16)...
Snowed in so here's today's edition of Bracketology. This is the no-flights edition of the bracket, which works perfect for money and sucks if you're a fan of Hobart/Adrian/Oswego
As a note, I don't think two wins for Norbert would put them in an at-large spot this week, but if it does, this...
You would've thought that was a old rival the way they played this weekend, my god
Another 6 points though, and with other results around the conference, Utica just needs to finish 6-2 down the stretch to clinch the #1 seed in the UCHC
