The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways.
Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar.
We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.
UWRF beats UWEC handily 6-3, but the game was closer through two. UWRF jumped on them early going up 3-0, then Eau Claire changed momentum by scoring two straight. It looked like we had a game again, but a hooking penalty by Eau Claire right before the end of the second came back to haunt...
In the MIAC, Bethel easily knocked off St Olaf 5-2. With a win or a regulation tie, Bethel takes the 5 seed in the MIAC playoffs. St. Olaf takes it with a regulation win. The only interesting game besides that one is GAC vs Hamline. Hamline took care of business last night winning 4-2, it...
The only way Concordia WI is getting in is with a win against Adrian in the NCHA Chip, loser will drop too much in the ratings. That conference is currently a wreck, one is enough. If Eau Claire pulls off another win against UWRF in their next two matchups, I'd say they're worthy of getting...
The MIAC playoff picture became clearer as Gustavus routes St Scholastica 4-0 punching their playoff ticket. Barring a St. Ben's complete meltdown in their last series, only the 5th spot is open. Bethel now has a one point edge for the 5th spot over St. Olaf who they'll play in a two game...
Well I was wrong about the total goals scored, but right about the upset last night as St Scholastica knocks off Gustavus 5-3 in a close battle. GAC needs to show up on Saturday or their streak of playoff appearances might come to an end.
Gustavus and CSB split, leaving MIAC playoff seeds 3-5 wide open for the stretch run. St Ben's gets Augsburg next, so the road doesn't get any easier for them as they seek to find consistency.
Gustavus draws St. Scholastica which is far from a guaranteed sweep for them. GAC is still...
Hamline decided not to mess around this time, putting CSB away 5-1. For CSB this is just the start of a tough stretch, the Bennies have an important series against GAC next, followed by Augsburg. A sweep by Gustavus or CSB solidifies third place in the conference to avoid the 4-5 play in game...
Seems right to me, CSB is a capable but not great team, I'd even say slight overrated right now 6-2-3 in the conference and haven't played Augsburg yet. Hamline definitely played down to the opponent allowing them to stay in the game.
Plus not much difference between teams 4-8 in the NPI, so...
Gustavus might not be landing as many potential lower D1 recruits, but they're not losing recruits within the conference beyond Augsburg and Hamline at any higher rate. I agree that the talent is less, but Noelle Hemr for example fits that top category you mentioned. Having six freshman fill...
Gustavus has came back to the pack and the MIAC overall is more competitive this year. There's no longer an easy game, from top to bottom. Augsburg and Hamline are clearly the frontrunners with very good teams, but still can be upset occasionally. Looking forward to the Augsburg and Hamline...
I thought last year was almost perfect, four teams from the West allowing an at large to get in from the MIAC. It's a tough conference, and it seems it's headed towards more competitive balance based on early results and some coaching changes. Not sure the NCHA has a great team to enter this...
If this was college football, I'd agree, but it's not. He's got a lot of rope, they'd have to tank the rest of the way. It is fitting that Bischoff lights it up against him, those darn MN kids! Bring in more Canadians that will get us on the right track, lol.
The West turned upside down this weekend. An encore from yesterday, this time UWEC takes down UWRF 3-0, Bethel knocks of Hamline 4-0, St Olaf 5 CSB 1.
The only sure thing was the shaky goaltending at Gustavus, current collective save percentage .856. My condolences, it can only go up from...
