The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways.
Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar.
We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.
If this was college football, I'd agree, but it's not. He's got a lot of rope, they'd have to tank the rest of the way. It is fitting that Bischoff lights it up against him, those darn MN kids! Bring in more Canadians that will get us on the right track, lol.
The West turned upside down this weekend. An encore from yesterday, this time UWEC takes down UWRF 3-0, Bethel knocks of Hamline 4-0, St Olaf 5 CSB 1.
The only sure thing was the shaky goaltending at Gustavus, current collective save percentage .856. My condolences, it can only go up from...
St. Norbert loses to Marian 1-2 in OT - SNC again dominated play, but struggled again to score.
Gustavus beats St. Olaf 2-1 in OT - Replay of the previous game, but different result.
St. Benedict wins 2-1 over St. Scholastica - CSS is starting to gel and playing competitive for Coach Brodt.
I watched the last two GAC games, they are struggling no doubt, but missing the MIAC playoffs no way. I'd put Augsburg and Hamline clearly ahead of them, but that's it. SMU was completely dominated by Hamline last night, and CSB and St Olaf have serious depth issues. While one of them will...
While UWRF clearly had the upper hand in this one, Augsburg has enough talent to challenge them with a little puck luck on both ends. I really enjoy watching the Falcons play, great skill on the ice. They won't be challenged again until the Panther/Cardinal Classic, as UWEC can't stay with them.
The first line for GAC played really well together and worked some great shots. That wasn't the case in the playoffs last year vs SNC, they literally were just throwing the puck at the net from a lot of poor angles and not working as a team. If one of the other lines develop, I think this team...
Watched the 2nd game of GAC vs SNC that went to OT. The first line for Gustavus of Reinke, Hemr, and Mortenson will put up a ton of points this year. Beyond that the other lines are still trying to gel with a lot of Freshman getting time, lots of experience on D. GAC failed on multiple...
UWRF 4 CSB 1 late into the 2nd period. Had some time to kill, but video went out after the 1st period. 2 goals for Sophia Hess (FR) for UWRF to lead the Falcons.
Going as expected, but I'm interested to see if the Bennies continue to build on last season.
Looking forward to the season finally starting! Lots of MIAC vs NCHA games in the first week, but expecting the MIAC to dominate most of those matchups. Adrian and SNC are both retooling and most likely won't be a match for Augsburg and Gustavus out of the gate. The game that might get...
St Cloud's Husky production crew does excellent professional quality work. They often broadcast both Men's and Women's games on the Fox 9 affiliate station and spoil us with some "free" hockey.
Most likely no need for that long, typically the MCL heals pretty quickly. All depends upon how much stability is in the knee since it's a grade 2 sprain. 4-6 weeks max is a pretty good time table. Really depends upon the knee responding to rehab.
Pohl's the last top 5 MN HS player to commit from that class. I don't think WI would be interested and not the best fit with TOSU, so if not with the Gophers that could get interesting for the documentary, LOL. Talla Hansen is the real deal, should be fun to watch.
It is a total culture thing, and that's what's great about it. Makes it fun watching hockey here on all levels, especially when a local talent wears maroon and gold. Love the mix of talent from abroad, but can't allow the very top MN kids to wear red. Simple rule, right?
I'm all for the good mix of players from home and abroad and bringing in the best. When you have the hotbed we typically have it's tough to swallow looking that the recent recruiting results. It might be as simple as a change of times, perhaps it's more glorious to go to the last champ or out...
My wife and I have been huge Gopher fans forever for multiple sports. The other day we were talking about how the women's hockey team has changed over the years and why we now feel slightly alienated as fans. A lot of it I believe relates to how bizarre their in state recruiting has been...
Not sure I'd write Gustavus off yet, the talent and speed was there, the chemistry was not. I'd be surprised if they didn't rebound from last year's performance which wasn't that bad to begin with. Plus the Carroll's aren't leaving yet and if they did they'd most likely have a transition plan...
Lot's of coaching changes in the West this year, especially in the MIAC. I'm excited to see how this shakes things up, especially from a recruiting perspective. Hamline, St Kates, St Scholastica, UWEC, and year 2 of Biz at Augsburg.
The old guard at UWRF and Gustavus had little to worry about...
Athletes Unlimited has sponsored softball games for at least 3-4 years, essentially calling them exhibition games as they toured around the country. They also played those games on ESPN, but it hasn't gained as much traction as the college games. NPF was before it and failed miserably, so...
