The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways.
Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar.
We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.
Montgomery would not have been on my bingo card as an early signing. He isnt ready and this will give him added AHL or ECHL time. I agree with the sentiment that maybe this is a school isnt right for him decision. Without going into details or naming names, I know for a fact that some of our...
I feel like you guys are seeing flinching when all it is them going down for a shot, trying to be in the way. I see this all the time with young goalies (actually flinching), and have been watching for it with Hauser (and would have seen it with Hicks) and have never seen that before and havent...
Back and settled in from Vegas. So, so, so proud of this team and the way they have played. This was an excellent team and maybe was the best of the 4 teams in the frozen four if you just look at how they play and execute. They were the better team in the final and just had some bad puck luck...
It will be interesting to see how this continues to evolve with NIL. The paycheck in the AHL and ECHL isnt that big, so if you have a good NIL set up, you may financially be better off staying. I agree that its odd to see guys leave early to tool around to be in the minors, but I also know for a...
Im also happy the puck went in. And you are probably right. Ill be honest, I was so excited to see it hit the back of the net, I didnt really scrutinize the fine details on initial trajectory, all that mattered is it wind up hitting twine.
So if Augustine is anything like my kid, he heard it on...
There really wasnt one. My understanding is it went off a Sparty player's glove to be specific, and also a multi Sparty player screen on Augustine. That goal was one he saves basically 100% of the time if he sees it and/or not deflected. Augustine will be the starter somewhere in the next 5 or 6...
Interesting that 3 of the 4 goalies are sub 6 foot. I like that trend, cause you dont have to be over six feet to be good at goalie, and also, what ive found at the younger ages is the tall kids tend to rely too much on being tall to get them through and unfortunately, too many...
I do know one of the Sioux fan posters has passed. MNS (or MinnesotaNorthStar). He passed a while ago. IIRC, he was air traffic control somewhere and died of a heart attack. Really nice guy, was sad for those of us that had met him.
Are we watching the same game? Hauser has played very, very well and made several HUGE saves.
Additionally, none of the 3 goals are remotely on him. All on turnovers and bad D play.
Hauser has looked really good so far. Brutal tip on the first goal, played it perfect and then it pops up over him. Second one D has to cut off the pass. Come on D, get it together.
I havent seen the ducking, but Ill keep an eye out. If by ducking you are referring to him going down in the butterfly, yeah, he tends to do that a lot, but that is more of a comment on the way the position is coached than Hauser necessarily. For college and pro level goalies they tend to love...
Not sure how much Ill post, but someone texted me and asked if I thought the one goal Hauser gave up was soft and I do not, so figured id pop in and read and maybe post. As I said above, I coach youth goalies and my 13 year old kid is a goalie, which is why I went down this path in the first...
So here is my perspective (and that perspective is that of someone who coaches youth goalies and has been trained with other goalie coaches by the people at USA hockey that have brought us people like Jake Oettinger and Connor Hellebuyck and there is a whole army of kids coming behind those guys...
