The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways.
Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar.
We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.
Great point Russell. HWS and Skidmore are in the Liberty league which is a great D3 league for all sports. But RPI, RIT, Clarkson and SLU and Union all are D1 hockey, so what would be an awesome D3 hockey league has no remaining critical mass for the remaining D3 teams So HWS hockey teams were...
So, Hobart plays the winner of St.Norbert v UNE. This should be a great matchup, although playing at St.Norbert will be really tough for UNE. Hobart has played both of these teams in the NCAAs.Hobart lost to St.Norbert in the 2006 semis at Elmira that was decided in OT . Good luck to both...
Thank you JSlicedog for your input. Not sure what is motivating this "member". I can tell you that recruiting good players and teaching them the system , as well as dedicating themselves to fitness so they can outlast everyone in the third period or overtime are the keys. I've seen quite a few...
Ah yes, great post, Donald R. DeCicco('75) was a real student(I actually knew Donnie) , he was a third string goalie on the Hockey Club. .........really.He received a great tuition package not because he was a good hockey player, but because he was geographically desirable for the Foreign...
Sour grapes post, implying Hobart Hockey has bought the team. For what gain? Because we make so much money from the $5 dollars for every patron (800 capacity), because we use a municipal rink that D3 hockey visitors mock, or maybe because we have no local NIL deals like a Utica star player has...
It certainly was a majority of Oswego fans who arrived early and filled the stands across from the Laker bench and beyond. I got there at 6pm which was the advertised opening only to find 75 % of the stands already full . HWS students typically arrive close to game time did not adjust their...
Hobart beats the Lakers 4-0 to take their first SUNYAC title. Oswego came to play but Hobart Defense and Beaver were awesome. Now we take a well deserved rest and wait to see who our next opponent is in the NCAAs.
Oswego came into the Cooler and played with great intensity for two periods , but in the last period Hobart scored 3 , including an empty net goal for a 4-0 win. Beaver played like Beaver as Hobart takes the SUNYAC hardware.
Congrats to Utica on an impressive win. Look forward to the possibility of another intense game at the Aud when it counts. Beaver was awesome tonight and held off a determined Laker team.
My info is tickets at door one hour before game (@6pm sale,) which is normal. 150 tickets were released to Oswego. this week. Hey we're not used to excess demand , HWS students usually fill it up by showing up 15 minutes before game, so if you get there early, I think you'll be fine . Max is...
The Cooler will be heating up on Saturday with temperatures reaching 70 degrees and 60 degrees at game times , not to mention the heat from the competition as the Oswego Lakers seek to upset the Statesmen by winning the SUNYAC and punching their ticket to the NCAA tournament. The Skatesmen...
Tony, I’m in total agreement about Ted Baker , he is a treasure for Hobart fans although there are some “Homer” shouts from the opposition at times. His football, ice hockey ,basketball and lacrosse calls are classic. His wife recently passed and he has still announced during this difficulty. At...
Just as we thought, Lakers vs. Statesmen in the SUNYAC final. Hobart needs to be ready for a very intense Laker team as making the NCAA tournament rests on this one game and breaking the streak is the icing on the cake. It looks like Taylor has the boys ready for the playoffs after last night...
The Cooler was packed as Hobart moves on to SUNYAC final after beating Cortland 4-0. Hobart remembered Cortland's 3rd period 3 goal comeback attempt in last game as motivation. .The team responded with the edge in shots 63-19 and playing fast but under control with only 2 penalties. Beaver ties...
