The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways.
Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar.
We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.
Welcome and Best of luck to Hobart's new Assistant Coach, Alec Marsh
Marsh joined the Hobart hockey staff in August of 2025.
"Certainly you have to have a high level of hockey ability to play at a program like Penn State, but what surfaced in the hiring process was what got him there, work...
At a time in College Sports where the headlines are dominated by NIL money and rules on how to pay athletes, its nice to see the excellence of academics rewarded for standout athletes ( Luke was selected as the Liberty Leagues standout scholar/athlete, and he will be missed, but he will be a...
Beaver's acrobatic sliding glove save in the Championship game was a classic(minute 8:45: https://youtu.be/NPVZQk4NIys) , and on a bum leg. Hopefully he will have no problem being healthy this season :). If you love hockey, or just love sports, this 14 minute video is a must watch, it captures...
Just Hockey. They are both in the D3 Liberty League and the league doesn't have enough D3 hockey members since Union, RIT, RPI and Clarkson are all D1 hockey programs. Hobart has no interest in moving up to D1 given the cost of building their own rink and the success they've enjoyed in D3 is...
So far no word on Morrissey or Duclair. Morrissey is a great passer and would be a great pickup, and Duclair is sooo fast , but hoping they both stay. Still lot's of time for potential roster movement , but Coach Taylor keeps the talent search active. Beaver is recovering well from off season...
The Hobart Statesmen return this season after retaining the Championship against the Utica Pioneers in a classic final with the winning goal scored in OT by Hobart's Fontana, a goal that was reposted by Gretzky on X simply saying "looks familiar". Can they Quadpeat?
I guess it's time to close this thread out and focus on 2025-26 and the Quadpeat. As far as rival Utica, their freshman stud goalie, Piros , just transferred to Adrian.Tough loss of talent. I hope we don't experience any loss of returning players, we need 'em all. GO Bart!
As far as the two Hobart portal entries, it will likely have an impact on the remaining team members as far as their relationship with these guys. Mark Taylor has to do what's best for the team and that means he is already recruiting the best players possible, and not necessarily...
I see that. Great contributors at Hobart , and will be missed. Duclair (brother in NHL ) is so fast and Morrissey is a solid Defender. Should get serious D1 looks.
So is the Championship definitely going to be played at the AUD? I am assuming yes, although the smaller rink was great with nice lighting. Can't wait to play at the AUD during the regular season, it should be good practice for the finals matchup in 2026....just hoping it happens in Beaver's...
Thanks for the rundown of the rinks, I'll probably get to Oswego and a couple of the others this year. At least the The Cooler is free . The Community of Geneva is really looking to upgrade with the Colleges....but who knows what that means. Local meetings are in the works. I would prefer to...
Congratulations to Hobart All Americans(East):
Beaver(G) : 1st Team Diii Hockey; 2nd team USCHO
Daniels(F); 1st Team both Diii Hockey and USCHO
Mauer(D) : 1st Team both Diii Hockey and USCHO
Aquaro(F): @2nd Team both DiiiHockey and USCHO
They all have been on the 3 Championship teams ...
Interesting Beaver was selected first team by Diii Hockey and Soderwall first team by USCHO. I figured Soderwall deserved it because he played the entire schedule while Hobart was lucky to have 2 great goalies as Goyer split with Beaver during the season although Beaver took the tougher games on...
So, I've only been to Oswego for an away game, and that was pretty cool. How would you rank the other venues in the SUNYAC (please no comments on THE COOLER, I'm really sensitive after all those mean Utica posts )
