UMaine '26-'27: The Bridge On the River Stillwater

Who in the locker room will get blamed now?

Who in the locker room will get blamed now?
Barr gets blamed. They had a bye week (could have scheduled an exhibition game?) and they look like a JV team out there - completely unprepared. With all and likely more decommits to come coupled with the influx of NIL $, when is someone going to ask whether Barr has any connections with anyone other than the Avalanche (Alfano - who is probably kicking himself as Hakstol came in). Unless us fans think this is a “building year”?

Barr def has connections to the canes and the flyers.

Awful game, but just have to put it away and come back to fight tomorrow. I'll be there to see it, so hopefully they can show they're made of something. I think they will.

Turn the page on that game, they were horrible and came out flat. I’m sure the coaches are partly to blame but those games will happen, especially when you are not as talented as other teams.

Every once in a while you’re going to get throttled by a team loaded with high end draft picks but I don’t think it’s fair for that to be an indictment of the whole staff and recruiting philosophy.

Even though bad games happen this one stings because it is BU. Although it sucks, I would rather this team get it out of their system now than january/february

That’s good to hear. What is the status of Maksim actually coming next year? We will need another goalie correct?
Barr was with Maksim at the draft so I am almost certain he will come to Maine. We had a goalie coming in, but he struggled a lot in the QMJHL and he decommitted. PWS is a junior so he could start next year. I am not sure if Maine has any great goalie recruits coming in.

Is there a greater diffrence on how a team plays at home vs away than Maine
Take it with a grain of salt. Alot of our transfers didnt come from Hockey East...this league can humble you like the B1G 10. Credit to BU tonight for smashing us. For all the BU ball washing tonight from the accouncers however, Maine wins tomorrow and its just another loss. And remember these pricks come to Orono, their own house of horrors.

Being the road team in hockey east is a two way street.

It was quite an embarrassment. The last time I saw something that absurd was when Brian Gionta scored 5 goals in 10 minutes down at the Conte forum.

Now THAT was a night. These days when I tell folks about it I have to remind them "and that is when Maine was good!" Now Maine is alright and BC is the new Maine/Whitehead.

Puking in my mouth but BU looked good last night. Fantastic flow on the offensive end and good closure on D. Guess we will see which Maine team shows up tonight but Agganis is slowly becoming a hell hole for Maine (Happy Halloween)

Maine doesn't need "another" goalie, they need *a* goalie.
Maybe a Shooter Tutor

OTD in 1992, the greatest team to ever take the ice was completing a weekend exhibition series with New Brunswick. Tonight's 11-1 victory gave Maine a sweep in which the Black Bears outscored the Reds 20-3.
