College Football 2025

I'm certainly no Alabama fan, but they got ripped big time by the officials. That's the clearest definition of pass interference you can possibly find.

Headed to 32, mark my words.

23 slots to the power conferences, 1 to the mid-majors (and the power conferences). How 2026 of them.

More than a third of power conference teams will now make the tournament. They've gotta be over the NC$$ limit, right? Even with the Washington Generals conferences that is 24/138 = .174. We are 16/60 = .267 and always getting shit that we are "way" over.

Did Notre Dame get themselves affiliated as an ACC team? I suppose we negotiated some set-aside salus animarum suprema lex.

If I am reading right:
  • Power Four conference champions get auto bids.
  • Top ranked of the Powerless 6 conference champions gets an auto bid.
  • Now take the top 19-n remaining ranked teams, where n is the number of auto bids outside the top 24 in the rankings.
So in practice it will be the top 24 ranked teams. I have seen nothing to indicate the auto bids equate to top-8 seeding and first round byes.

BTW, it's not signed yet, and I have seen a rival 28-team proposal.

I mean, that doesn't mean 1 and only 1 non-Power-4 team gets in. There's certainly some of them smattered throughout the top 25 usually. Of course it's quite possible only 1 gets in if people find a way to game the rankings for the sake of the Power 4, and that is where the money is.

Yes, I read the 23/24 number but when I analyzed further I decided it was hooey. "Whooey?"
