Wisconsin Recruiting V - Does it even matter?

[Timothy A]

Ethan Sung has committed.

Over a point per game at SSM.

[cinnamoroll]

he was really good at Hlinka, if he wasn’t so short he might get first/second round buzz for this draft

[GoBucky18]

On Elite Prospects Sung is listed at 5'8" 178. Solid stats.

I dont know enough about him, but we will see how his skillset transfers to Jrs this year.

Verbal commits really dont mean much to me anymore.

Badgers get commitment from Rylan Hanson

Todd Milewski (@ToddMilewski) on X

The Badgers got another commitment from a member of the U.S. team for this year's Hlinka Gretzky Cup. Defenseman Rylan Hanson from Elk River-Zimmerman in Minnesota is on the affiliate list of the USHL's Muskegon Lumberjacks.

USHL season starts today. Most current recruits are playing there. New guy Rylan Hanson is playing senior year in Minn HS I believe, but maybe he’d play some games after his season (believe his rights are with Muskegon)

Not sure what’s up with Jaxon Williams - looks like he was left off the Brampton Steelheads roster after playing the back half of last year with them. Looks like he was with the Sioux Falls Stampede for some of their training camp/ preseason, but from the final roster the Stampede posted to Twitter he was left off their regular season roster as well. He is listed on a preseason not up to date roster for them on USHL.com, and if you click on his linked player info it says his NCAA commitment is Boston College.

Landon Knott has committed to UW.

Wisconsin gets commitment from defenseman with connection to Badgers staff

Defenseman Landon Knott of Bemidji, Minnesota, and the USA Hockey National Team Development Program said Monday he plans to play for the Badgers.

I wonder if we will be hearing anything from Brooks Suter?!?

Is he any good?

I wonder if we will be hearing anything from Brooks Suter?!?

I believe since he is slightly younger he cannot commit until a later date next year. I would hope he’s strongly considering UW - seems like a very talented player aside from the obvious family history. But hard to say with total certainty he will end up as a badger

[solovsfett]

I hope Brooks becomes a Badger!!

My god, I feel really old now. I never saw Bob Suter play but I did see Gary Suter for one season in Madison when I was a kid.

2010 F Aiden Kelly has committed. Originates from MI of all places. #10 rated 2010 North American skater. This is a very interesting development.

He has been quite good in a small sample size in the OHL this year, and he was a first round OHL pick this past summer, but perhaps what says the most to me is the upset Michigan State fans on social media...

Recruited by new coach Nick Peruzzi new him from the youth program in Michigan. Good stuff and great article (paywall, but Todd's work worth the money):
