Out with the old in with the new. I think it will be a good year, maybe not a great year but they will be very competitive with the top tier programs. First test is MSU, which is expected to be a very strong team.

BOB up to #10 on coaches hot seat rankings. Very lucky to beat Maine. Similar to the Holy Cross game where we essentially lost but the QB (who became a national story a bit later) ran out of bounds while running for the GW TD.

I'd imagine this Nor'easter this weekend could help prevent a blowout but it's going to be ugly during the ACC Schedule and BOB seems to not understand how to evaluate the QB position which is kinda important. Not sure where any other wins are going to come from. Maybe Syracuse again and that's probably it. Then you have the national news that BC was lowest of the P4 NIL spenders, which was disputed but still a terrible look. Things are beyond rotten in the athletic department.

Nick Saban could be the coach and you would still get the same results without the proper support and financial resources that teams like OSU and ND get. Leahy was good in non athletic fundraising but he was always steps behind for athletics and did he even show up for any games ? Doubtful

Will Butler be any different ? That remains to be seen. At least when I was a student and young alum, Father Monan was at games and supportive. BC had some ranked teams and competitive years.

Football should be the fundraising machine that supports all the other athletic programs. It is pathetic at Alumni Field when everyone knows what the product is and fans come late and leave early and all you see are empty stands practically. Apathy becomes reality and demoralization.

BC cannot field a competitive team and has become the new UMass. Even UMass now could beat BC today after they took apart Rutgers. The few talented players on the team is negated by injuries and shows the lack of depth and lack of talent to compete in an ACC conference.

The good players BC had left in the portal for better teams and bigger NIL payday. Do we even have a legit TE in an already weak offense that depends on the QB to make things happen ?

From what I hear, the SU coach is under the HOT seat.

O’Brien has been given almost zero financial support his first two seasons.
This past offseason, BC allocated its first significant investment toward retaining and recruiting players, and free agents via portal. Unfortunately the pool of money allocated ($16 million approx) falls far short compared to 80% of the rest of Div. 1 competition. This is why he opted for a Div 2 QB in McKenzie, and developmental transfers such as Palano, Kahoun, Jones, Ballard, Zeke Moore et al. . Our starting left tackle V Ju Ju played at Tennessee State last season and can not run block. His backup Trevon Humphrey played at North Carolina Central and graded out poorly there as a run blocker (68).
Right tackle-Phillips (Mich St. transfer) is an often injured Guard converted to tackle because there is no one better on the roster. His backup is Reggie Jackson who played at Jacksonville State last season.
Our backup center is a Merrimack transfer-Amir Johnson. He is a 3rd stringer, as Crounse is injured.
The loss of TE Chudzinski was devastating, because there are no apparent Div 1 caliber tight ends on the roster. Moore is a blocking TE. Edgehille had no legitimate Div 1 offers. Clough is walk on and hurt.
We lost RB-Turbo Richards (tearing it up at Indiana) and WR-Reed Harris (5 TD’s at ASU) via portal. I assume we lacked the funds to retain.

Or the prospect of winning/success/competitiveness. I had the over/under on wins this season at 1.5. I'd have taken the under. I never dreamed that Rutgers would be that bad. It's only a matter of when, not if the SEC and B10 expand to 20 team super conferences and it is a guarantee that BC will be left at the kiddie table on the outside looking in. At that point the football program will be a glorified FCS program and football rather than being a revenue generator that helps carry the athletic department will be an anchor weighing it down.
