Can UMass Lowell Overcome Departures And Compete in Hockey East? Season Preview
After numerous key departures, things aren't exactly looking up for the Lowell Redhawks for 2026-27.www.si.com
I saw this article the other day. It's really pathetic that they haven't fixed the "Redhawks" nonsense.I saw this season preview online. The first sentence really stands out.
Said before hope norm can save the ship, but it looks like the Titanic is sunk. Remember what happened when you mass Amherst got rid of their coach then sure have looked good.I saw this season preview online. The first sentence really stands out.
That's not the only thing that needs to be corrected in there.I saw this article the other day. It's really pathetic that they haven't fixed the "Redhawks" nonsense.
Lowell is ranked 10th out of 11 in the HE media poll.
Scotty let's give Norm a lifetime contract.Lowell is ranked 10th out of 11 in the HE media poll.
Also 10th in the coaches' poll: https://x.com/hockey_east/status/2100238283980845400?s=20
Let's just hope with decent at home. I'm not asking a lot as a 20 year season ticket holder. We can't deny that the luster of this program has worn off, at least according to those that cover Hockey East, as well as the other coaches in the league.
This is my biggest wish for this season. We haven't had a winning record at home the last three seasons, a combined 13-31-5 for a 26.5% home win rate. In other words, we're only barely winning one of out every four home games. This absolutely is embarrassing.Let's just hope with decent at home. Question, did anyone attend the meet and greet the other day? Glad to see Jak got the C for this year, he's always been a player I've liked plays both ends really well. I'm with the sentiment here, it's definitely a make or break year for Norm. There is a lot of concern from us here, and I think the Administration as well. They also need to get the engagement from the students, how quiet was in the arena at times last year. Could hear a kid crying over even the game being played. This is my biggest wish for this season. I wouldn't call her "new" anymore, as this is the third season she's been here.I would tend to agree this is a make or break year for Norm, especially with the new AD coming from Univ of Denver and presumably knowing a thing or two about what it takes to build a top tier program.
